Not just for the retro bikes
First off, I would like to say this is an awesome light! It came within 2 days of ordering. I promptly installed it on my electric mountain bike (which looks great by the way) but not before having to hunt for a screw with a large enough head so it would not slip through the mount and not too large of a body so that it would fit through the hole provided on the bike. Luckily, I found one along with a nut to help secure it. The downside however is you have to screw extremely tight, and I mean TIGHT in order for the light not to tip to the side if you decide to make a sudden or sharp turn. Also, the screw provided attaching the light to the mount is still pretty loose even when screwed to it's tightest causing the light to shake a bit when the bike hits bumps or travels uneven road. But I guess if you don't plan to be extremely rough or off road with this on it is definitely a great buy. For the price, I really can't complain. The light it nice and was surprisingly bigger than I imagined it would be. Thanks Amazon.

Looks great on a beach cruiser! All metal housing is a PLUS!
After reading a couple of the mediocre reviews I was a little apprehensive to purchase -- but I am glad I did! It looks beautiful on my Huffy beach cruiser bike. Now people hoping for a real "motorcycle" headlight brightness will be disappointed but keep in mind this is basically a small flashlight running on 2 AA batteries not car headlight. Perfectly inline with my expectations. It does illuminate the road enough to see obsticles but most of all it'll help others to SEE YOU in low light. All around a great looking vintage style light that does exactly what the seller promises.

On the spot for a vintage look!
Perfect for vintage or vintage looking bikes and cruisers, be it for a restoration project or as an aftermarket addition. I bought it for my Nirve Fifty Three 3-speed cruiser.Outside look and finish of this light deserve five stars, and my recommendation! The body is all metal with a solid looking chrome finish (that's why it's relatively expensive)! It is much bigger than it looks on the picture. To open: Loosen up the knurled Phillips screw on the left side a few turns, then push the screw in, and the hinged front part will swing open. To close: snap shut, and tighten the screw.Despite the name it doesn't need a dynamo but works with 2 AA batteries and two old fashioned 3V flashlight bulbs. Alas, the electrics are pretty flimsy (therefore the 4 stars). Obviously this won't cut the mustard for long night rides on dark roads, so think about getting this light for the looks rather for heavy duty functionality. It could be converted to super-bright LED however, as the reflector is removable and there is plenty of space inside the body for a different battery pack, a better quality hi-low beam switch, and other hardware.

Waste of Money.
It looks and functions like a dollar store light. Cheap and badly thought out. Installed the batteries it, mounted it, tried it, watched it wobble and barely light the wheel, hated it, threw it in the trash. Caveat Emptor.

Beware when buying this light
I am disappointed in this purchase. It arrived and there were absolutely no instructions. No pictures, no drawings, no nothing. I had to call Amazon Customer service who emailed the vendor JBikes, and then JBikes emailed me. The customer service team was quick to respond, and they advised how to open the unit to install the batteries. But it still did not work, Apparently there are some copper contacts that have to be adjusted to come in contact with the tips of the bulbs in order for the unit to light up. They provided no instructions as to the tools you need and how to troubleshoot. Additionally I thought this was the model with the LED bulbs, but it is not and the bulbs are like in a cheap flashlight. I might mention when I called Amazon Customer service it sounded like they were distancing themselves as the agent repeatedly said I had bought this from JBikes and not Amazon. The light looks good from and aesthetics point of view on the Tricycle I had bought it for, the Torker Tristar Adult Tricycle.

This light is nice and bright during daylight and works well for night riding. It has 2 LED lights. One for a Low Beam and One for a High Beam. The switch on top is a little touchy changing from low to High beams but once on the selection is made it just works. I mounted it on my 50 year old classic and it looks great and right at home!

Inexpensive but not cheaply made
I bought this for my cruiser bike for Burning Man. it has a high/low/off switch that the "high" part stopped working after two days. I'm not sure if it was faulty or the rough environment of the playa. But the "low" setting worked and has continued to work long afterwards. The housing is plastic with the pseudo-chrome paint. Quite convincing and it looks great on cruisers and lowriders.

... a functional light and buy just for looks it's great. If you want a real bike light this ...
As long as you don't expect to use this as a functional light and buy just for looks it's great. If you want a real bike light this is not bright at all and is dangerous to use as your primary night riding or to be seen light, but it looks AWESOME
