I highly recommend this switch if purchasing the Aria Diva light, as the light is super bright. Without the switch, the light is too bright for some of my theater situations. Unfortunately, my original switch caused a flicker in the light, but after a few emails with Aria, my new switch is on the way! Excellent customer service from Aria.

This in line dimmer complements the Aria D1 Music Stand light perfectly, making it easier on the eyes for those long sessions when you need to concentrate on the music and not have to worry about eye strain. Many classical pieces are too long to memorize quickly, forcing you to train your eyes on the music constantly. This allows you to set the brightness of the light on your music to suit your own needs, quickly and easily. Highly recommended!

This was recommended with the lamp I ordered. Turns out there is a dimmer built in. Listened to Amazon to my regret.

The dimmer is better quality than the cheap switch on this light! The dimmer is essential when playing in an orchestral setting, where the hall is dimly lit. The light without the dimmer is too bright, and makes it harder to see the conductor when you look up for an instant. Cutting down the brightness alittle bit soves the problem! I highly recommend it!

Look, this little sucker modulates the electricities and goes all the way from making the light dark to making the dark light. It's simply science at it's best.

This dimmer provides the variable intensity required of an orchestra performer to meet the balance of adequate but discrete score lighting for the serious performer.
