The replacement is challenging but definitely worthwhile. Having a good heat gun and a clear work space will help out. Lack of written instructions is not a problem at all as there are plenty of videos that show all the steps. I reviewed a few of them before starting and then followed along and was able to complete this in about an hour.This battery definitely brought new life to an old piece of hardware - my iPad mini is now usable again. I don't know if its the same capacity as new but the iOS is more complicated now so its difficult to compare Apples to Apples ;).

The reviews complaining about the difficulty of replacing an iPad battery are missing the point. It isn't meant to be easy. You're not supposed to be able to do it at all! If you're willing to tackle the job then this kit works perfectly. I keep an iPad mini mounted in my truck that the battery swelled up on. This was a perfect replacement and comes with the tools you'll need to do the swap. 30 minutes of effort to gain another 2-3 years of product life sounds like a great deal to me.Review the product, not the process. If you're not comfortable servicing a product that isn't meant to be serviced then just buy a new one as intended. This isn't for you.

Ideally you’d practice on a broken one first to learn how careful you need to be when removing the screen. It’s very fragile. And the parts are small.I’ve replaced laptop drives, memory & batteries but I’d rate this job as extremely challenging.As mentioned in other reviews all the tools and parts you need are included. Important note: when removing the battery don’t use metal or any conductive tool. A plastic shimmy or credit card is best. Also note the glue is in the shape of an H.

The battery works good until about the 10th month, from there you will start to notice it's draining faster. By the 18th month, it can barely hold some minutes of charge. Pretty standard durability for this off brand batteries.

It is a quality product, I did not intalled myself, I asked a professional to do it. Once changed, works perfectly.

Bought this battery here on Amazon.Within 2 months it went bad.Randomly shut down, one minute is was 95%, minute later it was 3%.Some days it would charge, some days it wouldn't.Went to get the iPad one day & the screen was pushed off by the battery!$27.00 + WASTED on this P.O.S battery.As you can see by the photo, this battery bloated up at least 600% from original thickness.Not as bad as some of the other battery photos for this brand.Of course Amazon says sorry....been over a month since purchase.My advice...pass on buying this junk brand!PS...it did have a nice tool kit, which I used on another brand of battery to replace this junk..

I needed to replace the LCD digitizer and battery for my iPad A1538. Installment was easy. The battery came with adhesion (2 strips on the back of battery). Adhesion held up. Overall, I, Neo, was satisfied. Thank You for your product.

At about two years the battery was at 50%. Totally quit in just under three years.
