Great lock, but the enclosed drill bits are useless!
In the box you'll find the following:Lock assembly5 keysLock keep8qty, T30 anti-tamper security screwsT30 Security screw bit driver2qty PH1 no3 stainless screws19mm wood drill bit (useless)4.5mm general drill bit (not sure what for)Chrome plated escutcheon2 self adhesive drill templatesFixing instructionsLock dimensions:Lock barrel length from housing backplate (max gate thickness 74mm)Bolt throw RH mounting 81mmBolt throw LH mounting 84mmNow the lock feels substantial, with its 18mm square bolt and the black powder coated housing and lock keep, both equally as heavy duty.Installation is relatively painless, after modifying my gate by adding a block of white oak to carry the new lock, the first thing I noticed, the self adhesive template struggled to stick to a soggy, rough sawn garden gate, nevertheless a bit of gaffa tape later I started to drill the two required 19mm holes that the lock goes through.Once drilled I moved onto mounting the lock, now it's worth mentioning that, as with most pressure treated wood, it's soft, with that the instructions called for me to drill the holes with a 3.5mm drill bit, yet the one enclosed was a 4.5mm, regardless that predrilled holes would only later weaken the screws grip of the gate timber I just sent the screws straight in, even the ones that went into the bone dry oak, with the use of a 9yo cordless drill, sank in without hesitation. The lock keep has a plastic insert with a sprung tab that is there to minimize gate rattle in high winds and looks like it should be OK in the long run, just make sure in installation that it's the correct way round before fastening down as the lock bolt will not fully lock if it's the wrong way.I had added some red grease to my lock just to help it in the long run, the lock barrel is a bespoke type and unlike common lock barrels that have a cam which turns with a key, this barrel uses a sprocket that drives the pin via its predrilled holes (as seen from underneath the bolt) this type of barrel is not a common variety on the market so would probably be hard to source.I did like the included anti-tamper screws (as I planned to use coach bolts, and may still swap two out later on the lock) but both of the drill bits included were a waste of time as the 19mm one bent while drilling the first hole, and had I used the enclosed 4.5mm drill bit, they would have opened the mounting holes too much and resulted in remounting the lock a second time leaving holes all over the place.Ive still rated it as a 5 star as the product is better than I expected and I would buy either this one again or another from this range now, granted the included drill bits were a bit useless but using my own wasn't a deal breaker as I already expected to use my own.Ease of installation 5*Instructions 4*Delivery 5*Build quality 5*Accessories 2*

Solid, works nicely, reasonable cost - all good!
Nicely built, convenient drilling templates.I chose the version with a key both sides as the bolt moves freely and can be slid sideways on the thumb-turn version. (That's just how the euro cylinder works, pity there isnt a side mounted button that you have to depress to turn the handle or something..)The supplied tooling is a nice idea, but the flat bit they supplied was not sharp! I used my own..Quick tip, when locked the bolt protrudes more than you might expect, if your gate opens next to a wall, I suggest you lock the bolt, offer it up to the gate and mark its position before using the template to drill the holes!

Great garden gate lock
Although pricey I have to say this is a brilliant product. Very well made and so easy to fit as the drill bits are all supplied, all you need is a drill. The template is great no fiddly measuring, instructions so easy to follow and you get five keys. You do need to make sure your gate is thick enough, I had to add a small 1cm piece of wood to pad it out.

Thoughtfully assembled kit, with a few flaws
This is a really neat and thoughtfully packaged kit, The lock body itself is sturdy powercoated steel, and quite confidence inspiring, it comes with long, decent sized, stainless steel tamperproof screws, and importantly, also with a driver bit. There's a decent, oversized keep with a plastic liner, again with tamperproof screws, and a polished stainless steel escutcheon. There's a pair of drilling template stickers for alignment (one left one right handed), decent written instructions (in good English, for those that consider such things important). And finally, it comes with a pair of drill bits: One presumably a pilot drill for the screws, the other spade bit for the lock body. The problem, is the drill bits were the wrong size. the pilot drill was 5mm, and the spade drill was 19mm. The (clear) instructions stated the drill for the screws should be 3.5mm and the spade for the lock body should be 18mm - okay this is probably a bit pedantic, but for the hard of thinking if you used the 5mm pilot drill, it would spoil your day as you'd probably find the security screws would then pull out of even slightly softer would without much effort. As it was I had the right drill bits in my toolbox, so fitting wasn't much of a problem at all.If I was being really picky, I'd also say the steel escutcheon could do with a bit more de-burring, but that's really super fussy. All in all I like the thought that went into the kit, but the attention to detail needs a bit of work.

Perfect
I think it's the second one of these I bought. First one was for the cupboard door (property not sold) and the new one I use is for the outside gates. Heavy, sturdy, easy to rotate and feels very secure. It's been on our gate for 7 months or so only but has already been through rain, ice and snow.
