Pretty cool that I can make ahead with my own coffee.

For now, I am only giving this product 4 stars. The reason for this is because I have not actually used the product yet. So, I am basing this solely on first look. First let me explain this purchase, I personally do not own a Keurig brewer, I have Tassimo in my home. However, my work coffee maker is Keurig, while the brewer is provided by my employer, the k-cups are not. I personally do not like Keurig, thus the Tassimo machine in my home, however, Keurig is my only option at work. I have not yet found a Keurig flavor that I enjoy, plus the k-cups are rather expensive, therefore, a reusable k-cup was the answer for me. I had a different style previously, and while it worked good enough, coffee grounds would spill out the top on transport from home to work, not a lot of grounds, but enough to leave grinds in my bag. Consequently, this product fit the bill, a cap to prevent grinds from falling out of the filter. So now for the review:One of the complaints of this product is that it is too small, needs to hold more grounds. While yes on first glance this product appears to be smaller than other reusable Keurig filters, the reality is that it is not. When I first opened the box, I thought the same thing, wow this looks small. But on closer inspection, I realized it is not. First, this filter is not as recessed at the bottom as other filters. Instead it has two, smaller, areas for the piercing spike in your Keurig machine. These areas are necessary to avoid the filter being pierced at the bottom rendering it useless as a reusable filter. None the less because the recessed area is smaller on this filter compared to others, you do not loose space to the recess. Second, the lid on this filter fits flat, meaning that it does not need space within the filter the way other filters do. My previous filters had a dome like area on the lid which meant that when you closed the lid you had to leave enough room in the filter to accommodate this dome area. The lid on this product fits flat, meaning that you do not lose volume from the lid. Third, and finally, I tested this filter compared to my previous filter. I took the coffee out of my previous filter and put it into this new filter, not only did it fit all the coffee from the old filter, there was additional room, all be it a small amount, to add additional grinds. Therefore, while this filter may appear smaller than other filters found on Amazon, the reality is that it is the same size, if not a little bigger, than the other filters. By the way, if you wish to compare yourself, my previous filters were 6 Reusable Single Cup Keurig Solo Filter Pod Coffee Stainless Mesh By iPartsPlusMore.The product lost a star solely because of the holder with the cap. I purchased this product for the sheer fact that there was a cap that prevented the coffee from coming out the top of the filter, and while this product does fit the bill, the cap is not the greatest. Perhaps because it is new, the locking mechanism is a little stiff, I purchased 6 of these and I have noticed that the locking mechanism is stiff on all 6 filters. This is a good thing, because if it were too loose it would not stay locked, but, it is a little difficult to open because it is stiff. Again, this may be because they are new, with time it may become easier to open. Finally, the filter itself is somewhat difficult to remove from the holder. This too may simply be because they are new and with time the filter may slide out easier. But for now, the filter is a little difficult to remove from the holder.Bottom line, if you are looking for a k-cup reusable filter for travel purposes, i.e. home to work, then this filter appears to be the best option. The minor complaints I have (the stiffness of the lock, and the sticking of the filter in the holder) are just that minor, easily overlooked to not have coffee grounds all over my work bag.

this was a gift ... thank you for making these for the Keurig Single Serve Coffee system...this way your regular coffee can be processed the machine...or any other brand of coffee...invaluable!!
