Wonderful rice, but bugs due to Amazon incorrect warehouse storage
The rice we received from Amazon was old, rancid and had bugs. Pretty gross, and Amazon would not let us return it. 🙁 So I called McCabe directly. They kindly replaced the 12 lb bag I had ordered. The bag we received from them was fresh, no bugs, and a truly excellent product. Maybe Amazon should consider storing organic food products better.

Heavily infested with rice Bugs
The media could not be loaded. Heavily infested with rice Bugs I know it usually/can happens with shipping rice but this bag was incredibly infested and almost moldy looking, one of the bugs was happier leaving the bag and trying to invade my home so, it must have been like that for a while, and there were a lot of holes in the package, suggesting more than just rice bugs were nipping at it.

A New Great tasting nutty sticky rice- Yay USA n Organically grown
I dont write a lot of review but I think this deserves a good 5 stars to counteract the bad reviews. Overall, I am very happy and thrilled to find USA grown and Organic brown sticky rice that actually tastes great. I have decided to always support made-n-grown in USA products/produce. Local farming always the best. Worthy every hard earned pennies.Growing up with traditional Asian white sticky rice from oversea, taking on a whole grain brown sticky rice is somewhat an adjustment to my healthier life style. It takes a bit longer to steam (even after an overnight soak) and not as sticky as glue like the other white sticky rice varieties but it has a sweet nutty texture taste. The more you chew, the sweeter and nuttier flavor you can taste. So take your time and savor the meal (good for digestion too). Pics are of the rice in bag(no bugs), raw rice, and cooked rice. The actual cooked rice looked a bit better than the picture (which had dried out a bit bc my dd has left these rice out on the counter after it cooked so the steam had escaped.) But you can always re-steam it to warm up and rehydrate it. It tastes good a bit dry like that, too. I found myself snacking on it plain as if it is mini sunflower seeds.Directions, this is what I do. I use the Walmart Mainstay steamer pot that I bought from a local yard sale. (Pic included) Whether I use the smaller or bigger steam layer, depending on the amount of rice. If you use the deep big layer, make sure the water dont touch the bottom of the steam layer. The key is to make several steam holes, 1 in the middle and 5-6 on the outside in a circle, at bottom of the layer steam pot so the steam can come up onto the rice. Steam at least 30-35mins after the water boiling with lid closed, for 1 cup of soaked rice, more time if you want it softer. Dont open the lid until you think it’s done bc it takes a while to build up enough the steam to cook the rice and whole grain rice take a while to cook but worth the trouble. I have not use the instant pot to cook this rice yet. I need to get the steamer insert and try. To steam it instead of cook in in water bc doing so would turn white sticky rice into a big sticky blob so I had been using traditional steaming method mentioned above, up until now.It eat it with different beans or meat with Breakfast and it keeps me full for a long time while I work hard tending and growing a big vegetable and fruit gardens.Bottomline, don't expect it to be sticky gooey white sticky rice. Take it, like it is, and get used to it. Kinda like eating white jasmine rice vs wild rice mix (black, red, n brown) or white bread vs whole wheat, whole brain bread. One is smooth n gooey sticky, other more texture, more flavor, and slight sweet and nutty.Highly recommended. It is on my subscription list for life. Please keep growing them. Thank you so much for all the hard works. Its not ez growing foods, let me tell you. Growing grains is even harder. Big Applaud YAY for USA and Organically grown.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT INFESTED WITH RICE BUGS
The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased McCabe Organic Brown Rice and unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with my purchase. Upon opening the package, I found it infested with rice bugs. It was a revolting sight and made me lose my appetite.I am appalled that a product marketed as "organic" could contain such a significant amount of insects. It is not only unappetizing but also a health hazard. I had to throw out the entire bag of rice, and it was a waste of my time and money.I would not recommend this product to anyone. The presence of bugs is not only unhygienic but also a clear indication of poor storage or production practices. It is unacceptable for a food product to be sold in this condition.I am thoroughly disappointed with my purchase of McCabe Organic Brown Rice. The infestation of rice bugs ruined my meal and made me feel disgusted. I hope the company takes the necessary steps to rectify this issue, as it is unacceptable to sell such a product.

#1 Taste and Texture
Everyone in this family now fully hooked on the totally different taste and texture. I may be jinxing by saying it but after several bags have not seen any bugs as described by others. Upon receiving I immediately place in freezer for a few days just to make sure. Expensive but worth every penny.

It’s of a good taste. I’ve been eating for the last few months
I didn’t experience the rice bug issue receiving this in California. I was worried about the beans being too old, dry and tasteless, but they were not and when cooked in a pressure rice cooker adds a good taste to the rice. I’ve been exploring multiple brands for the grain mix, and this is the best in terms of the quality and price. Note though if you’re using a mediocre rice cooker, let it sit in the water for a bit before cooking for the best taste.

I regret purchasing 14 bags of this rice!!!
The media could not be loaded. I have bought this item 14 times, but I trusted this brand so much that I never even bothered to read the comments from other customers. Honestly, I loved the rice, and this was the only brand I purchased. Since this is organic rice, I thought their quality control was exceptional, and the last thing I expected was rice bugs. I noticed the rice bugs in my last opened bag and thought I was not careful enough to close it, and somehow they got into the bag. So, I threw away the leftover half of that bag and ordered a new one from Amazon. This time, I was suspicious, and even before opening the bag, I carefully checked the contents through the transparent section of the bag. Guess what I found? Live rice bugs. If you want proof, take a look at the video of unopened bag with rice bugs moving in it. I am beyond disgusted. This company should be ashamed and held liable for this kind of behavior. As customers, we are paying a premium price and expect premium content. Shame on you, McCabe. Shame on you!

Buyer beware.
The reviews arent accurate because they cover several different products other than the one I purchased. In other words the reviews are meaningless. The black rice is of a very, very small grain variety.
