Great extension of my wireless. I have a" man cave/office" in my unattached garage about 100 feet away from my cable company supplied Wi-Fi modem. It actually was able to reach this but the signal without the extender but it was weak and often dropped the connection or slow speed. I installed this about 50 feet away. I now get great connectivity for my laptop.I run a observatory in my yard. 300+ feet from my router. I have 5G and 2.5G on the router. (cable internet). I could BARELY connect to the 2.5 300+ feet away. I got this for 1/2 way... but first time I tried it I just plugged it in next to the laptop 300+ feet out. It picked up good signal and was giving the laptop 5 bars. Works great. MY PROBLEM is my laptop is old and has slow wifi. So I want to try direct LAN connection. I got 50mbs in the house and 10 at the laptop. I may have to get a faster/newer laptop. Many reviews say it died in a couple months. I'll report back if mine does.I would highly recommend this one through amazon considering they sell the same unit in my local store for a much higher price.

I had WIFI reception problems in some areas of my apartment and decide to try this device with an offer and it works. I was interested only as WIFI extender even it can works also as router and AP. It very easy to configure, just open the browser type 192.168.10.253 and follow the easy steps provided with the installation guide.It takes the signal from your wifi network and extend it with the SSID of your election and same password.Once configured you can move it from one plug to another and you dont need to configure it again. This is very useful if you have two zones with low reception and you want to use it in different places.I tested it and compared the throughputfrom the direct WIFI and from the device. First I installed in point A the device and when measure the throughput from the debice is a little inferior to the direct WIFI, then i went to pint B where still i have signal from the direct WIFI but when I go futher from both in point C there is where this device make sense, the direct WIFI lost the signal but this device wifi still work. In conclusion this device make a good job.This were my measures:Point A: Direct WIFI download 14.5 Mbps Up load 15.3 Mbps WIFI from the device download 2.9 Mbps, upload 11.4 Mbps,Point B, direct WIFI download 2 Mbps, upload 1.12 Mbps. From the device download 2.9 Mbps, upload 9.78 MbpsPoint C Direct WIFI No signal, Device download 0.84 Mbps, upload 1.53 Mbps.

After having this installed for several months, my rating is based on the frequency of which I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to keep working. I.T. Crowd people will know what I am saying. When it works, it projects a strong signal from my livingroom router to my bedroom. But, I have to unplug and plug it in about once a week for it to keep working. It constantly asks for my password (because it says that it is the wrong password—when I haven’t changed anything) and then will still not work once the password is entered. I kid you not, unplugging and plugging back in is the only way it fixes the problems I am having. I would recommend you to look elsewhere for a more reliable wifi extender.

My sister has a swimming pool at the back and always complain about the weak signal about the WiFi. She has a modern and wireless router which was installed at the front of the house. This signal extender was great and you just need plug to any outlet to make a access point of wifi. (Of course you need to setup but pretty easy ）I like it without wire running and plug to different outlet until you find the strongest signal location.

Bought this to be a repeater only. I hooked it up and went to install it and it has not been smooth. Typed in the IP address followed the instruction and has not been smoothing going. Try to type in the IP address again and i get a completely different page, one the already awful instructions dont mention. Factory reset and nothing. No customer support available at all.

I was optimistic about his purchase since it was less than $25, but I was delighted when it worked as advertised. Until the installation of the Wireless-N Mini Router, I haven’t been able to get WIFI in by back yard and into my motorhome parked in by driveway behind the house. Not only do I now get a strong signal, I can actually stream movies from inside my motorhome. Best $25 I’ve spent in a long time.I haven’t used this device in AP mode or as a router, but the Repeater Mode works great.

Great product in that it has improved both cell phones, iPads and TV streaming.With that said, I had to make 2 runs at getting it going as you have to find website and type in password. Problem for geezers like me.With that said. It performs as promised. I could recommend it for sure.

Wifi signal strong. However, the unit will not work as a repeater. Instructions followed, but unit just functions as its own network. Vendor contacted and was no help. The response was along the lines of "its working in our office". Clearly not helpful. I do not recommend this product.
