Very good for the price, and works with Android TV
Just plug it and it works. I'm using it with my Sony TV running Android TV.* Air mouse feels smooth.* Build quality is decent for the price.* Enough buttons to navigate menus.* Was able to program the IR power button from the TV remote.Hard to complain with the price, but I wish the shape of the remote was a bit sculpted to make it nicer to handle and be less wobbly when on the table. I also wish there were a few extra "custom" button that can be programed to launch apps. You may want to install a third party virtual keyboard on Android TV as the default Gboard will not show up when you have a physical keyboard connected.

Life saver
This is probably my 3rd or 4th one of these and each time it's because I have misplaced the original remote or are unable to pair a device. There best part of this device is that there is no pairing required and is as simple as placing the USB attachment into whatever you're wanting to control. It's a media box for me and this works well, the batteries last long, it fits well in the hand and is an excellent replacement remote

Worth the price.
Works great with our NVIDIA Shield with one exception. Some apps may not work when using the select button when trying to play video. VRV is the only app I have had an issue with thus far. The mouse feature is handy when needed. Voice control is adequate but not used often for us. I would definitely recommend this controller over the one that comes with the shield.

Good replacement for old thin Nvidia Shield TV remote - BUT HAD TO RETURN
The original remote was one of my all-time favorites but the 4-way pad was starting to require multiple presses. This G20 remote worked right out of the box and does all the functions of the original. I prefer the thinness and the touch sensitive volume control of the original but they are not available. This will be a good replacement. It has a very low quality feel to it so I might order a spare. For some reason I had to try the microphone three times to do a voice search but once it started working it seems ok now. I like the accelerometer mouse function. The original remote didn't have that and made certain apps inconvenient so in that respect this is better than the original.UPDATE: I was wrong about the mic taking three tries. That was just a fluke. Sometimes the mic works, sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out a pattern but I suspect a firmware bug over a hardware problem. If the mic functionality, voice search, etc. is important to you, maybe consider a different remote.UPDATE2: Within a couple of days this remote's behavior became so erratic that it is virtually unusable. Occasionally it works fine but most of the time when you click a button it will take from 5 to 20 seconds to respond and then it will send the command many times. For example to go to the next item in a list menu I click down and it sits there for a while, then goes down 3 or 10 or 20 lines down the list. Same thing with every keystroke. I have tried different batteries. Sometimes taking the batteries out for a minute will get a couple of good keystrokes before it goes out of its mind again. I know it is the remote because my Shield does not exhibit this behavior with the old remote.UPDATE3: I returned the G20 remote and received a replacement but it exhibited the same erratic behavior. Once in a while it works for a while but then it starts going crazy with long delays and sending many commands in response to a single keypress. I finally gave up and returned the remote. I will go back to using my original remote even though the keypad Right function is wearing out.

80% Great
Worked right out of the box. But, I, had it for a little over a month and the left scroll button on the directional ring works on and off. You have to press it very hard to get the cursor to move. The all of a sudden, it starts working just fine, then after some days, have to mash the button harder to get the cursor to move. Weird. . All the other buttons work perfect except this one.I only got it because it had a power button, volume control, and an air mouse. Air mouse was important to me because some 3rd party apps like Movie HD, Cinema Box, etc, do not work with the original Nvidia Shield remote. You need an air mouse Works perfect, BUT, you cannot use the air mouse NOR the directional buttons and OK button to type on the screen keyboard. You HAVE to use the original Nvidia shield mouse for this. So if you want to add something to Kodi, you will have to use the original Nividia Shield remote.

Best alternative to both Nvidia remote or controller
Both the original devices seem to have problems and even intermittently with Nvidia Shield TV. I have two of them installed in different rooms and both remotes are erratic and seem to complain a lot about the battery. Both have had replacement fresh battery installs and soon again they are just goofy. The controller is rechargeable but for some reason when the remote is apparently causing this lack of response that allows me to navigate on the screen...it seems that the controller is very unresponsive. After installing this remote, I decided to turn off the air mouse movement as I am familiar with that and do like it on another android TV box. So I use this remote conventionally using keys to select or move around the screen as I need to. The volume is somewhat a better deal as the sliding on the original remote was easy to bump mistakenly and I prefer the volume up and down buttons. Getting back to battery as I have not replaced the original ones yet....they are conventional AAA's and we all have them and probably put out more power for a longer time vs a pen battery times two in original remote supplied with Nvidia. The only negative is that you are using a USB slot for the receiver but I have attached external storage and this receiver and my ports are filled. I can recharge the controller battery externally with a QC 3.0 power supply just fine once the system tells me that the controller needs some juice. So far all my response issues have gone away with this remote and at this price, I am glad to say it is an excellent value.

Does not work
I wanted to use it in my Kodi Device but it does not work. The okay button is not working at all which is a bummer.

Works out of the box
I bought this to replace the original IR remote for my WeChip Android TV box. The original was clunky and difficult to use. The G20 is a breeze by comparison. The Android box is now far easier to navigate and use. The air mouse function is particularly good. Plus it's a great price. I'm glad I bought this remote.

Dead after 5 months
Was great when it worked. Had it for 5 months and it no longer detects a charge and does not turn on. At $34.99, you would expect it to last longer than 5 months
