IRIS USA Storage Bin, 26.5 quart, Clear, 4 Count

We live in harsh country, (South Central Texas) where bugs, mice, and insects reign outside in the sheds and try to come in the house at times too.I am a sewing hobbyist, and we homeschool (5), so we have a lot of fabric and books.I used to use Rubbermaid when we lived on the West Coast, but here the ants ate right through the plastic and made a nest in my linen fabrics. Plus you can’t stack the Rubbermaid too high with very heavy objects like unalbumed pictures. They eventually collapse.So far these are working better. But I do keep these inside. I just can’t trust soft, edible things like books or clothes outside in storage.

The corners of the bins and lids are all broken or cracked. It's pretty upsetting that the cost was so much and they are all broken...

The storage boxes are solid, and their tops lock with a solid thunk. There is a silicone/rubber gasket in the rim of the lid which is the WeatherShield in the name. I do believe they would keep things out even if left outside in the weather. Once I got the hang of seating the lids properly -- they don't just drop on -- I loved these containers. Yes, they take a bit of precision putting bottom and top together, and I did break a nail the first time I unclicked one of the closures, but if you want WeatherShield, then those are pretty much good things.If you have storage needs that you want virtually air- and moisture-tight, I would go for these Ziploc brand containers. They aren't cheap, but they look like they'll last for many years.

I have purchased (3) sets of (4), 26.5 Quart Storage Bins. Yes, I do like these. They fit well on my storage shelves. I do flip them right side up & down to fit next to each other to store side by side. They keep dampness out. Open and lock tight easily.This stops me from re-buying items I can not find when I need them. When I need something BAM I can see & grab. Not pull out many bins & waste time. These are "Zip-Lock" a brand that has been around a long time and stands up to its name for air tight storage in small & large tasks. Ziploc WeatherShield 26.5 Quart Storage Box, 4 Pack, Clear

Overall, these are great boxes, but one of the lids came with a couple broken-off nubs on the underside of the lid (shown in photo). So, I think these boxes can be packaged better. The broken nubs don't cause functional/structural issues, but I'd need to watch myself on the sharp edges, so I'm thinking of returning these boxes or having them replaced.Update 6/14/2016: I bought a 2nd set of these, which arrived in perfect condition. So I think overall these are pretty sturdy. The first set must have had a problem in transit or with the way they were packaged.

Great product -- and I have a lot of them -- however the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 -- if you stack them the bottom one is no longer sealing shut the side closers have stopped closing. I don't know if there is a weight limit or what. But I use them to store organic grains which are around 20 lbs each. So the bottom one on a stack of 5 might have too much weight. My only disappointment is that now those blue closure locks don't work on the bottom boxes.

These container are cool. They almost didn't fit under my bed by a hair. That's why I only bought one set. I needed them to fit under my bed and wasn't sure if they would. Now that I know they do, I'll be buying another set within a week or so.They arrived quick and in excellent condition. They are stackable as well, so if you need to travel, go camping, or move they will stack up to the job. Honestly I don't have a single negative thing to say about these. I recommend it to you and all who need great storage bins.

These are really good storage boxes, if I had one complaint it would be that I wish it had six clasps instead of 4. If you pack these right to the limit the sides without clasps will be the first to rise up.If you are going to pack these lightly they work like a charm, and the seal seems to be very tight. I will likely buy more of these if and when they redesign them to have 6 clasps.
