I have used this device now for about 2 years and would not buy it again. The LCD display started failing on me, first with some black spots on the screen and then the last digit started failing. Towards the end of its life I could no longer tell if the reading was 40, 43, 45 or 48. I would have to wait for a change to see what the reading was.I was also sold on their statement that the device had a quick response in reading the temperature. I did not experience that. I was measuring cooler and freezer air temperature streams and would have to wait sometimes up to 10 minutes for a constant reading. It was NOT fast.Another thing to consider is its ability to accompany you on travels. I travel around the US and need to take it with me. It does not pass TSA screening, so I had to check my bags everytime I took it on a trip. This was a major inconvenience.

Small jagged hook at the end of probe. Tested and measures temperature correctly. Does not give confidence in the quality of the rest of the product.

This product when brand new is a good product. I took the cheap route and tried to buy it used. It said that it was in very good condition, lies...it was not working, had chocolate and oil all over it, bo instructions and it didn't work. The screen was inked up as if it was exposed to excessive damage or water logged. I returned it. The seller I brought it from will be down rated for knowingly selling a broken used item and passing it off as near mint condition.
