Texture gun
A little too much plastic. It did the job (small one, two days). It just doesn't seem like it will have a long life. I had trouble with clogging.I spend more and get a more expensive hopper gun.

DON'T BUY!
If I could give this product a 0, I would. The spray gun did not spray and when it did, the texture came out in globs. We used the texture that was explicitly recommended. The worst part about it is that I can't get my money back for this pile of crud. The seller has a list of requirements in order to ger a refund and a 50% restocking fee for used products. They do offer to replace it, but why would I want something that didn't work the first time around. Very disappointed and I hope anyone considering purchasing this item, moves forward with extreme caution and the knowledge that there isn't really any going back if it doesn't work.

Homax texture gun
I have been paying people to do my drywall finish work, this product with it's easy to understand instructions, makes drywall work simple. The gun works well and will save you money on those small repair works, and the finish looks like it was done by a professional. You can't beat the price buying at Amazon.com. Update, I used this gun to do a large extension on my house to texture the walls and ceiling and it did a perfect job.

Works Good
Works fine. It may seem a bit cheap (plastic) but for home use its just fine. I would not buy one for profesional use, but for home use, this one is fine. I did my bathroom and the job came out fine. I plan on scraping off my popcorn ceilings through out the rest of my house and I will need to texture the ceilings after I am done and Im sure this spray gun will do the job great.

Better than homemade
Be aware that this gun does not have a hopper with it. We had to buy a hopper. That being said, it worked like a charm to texture walls in a basement room we built at my brother's house. It made a mess, but no more than any other gun my dad has ever used. My uncle once made a homemade one that did not work nearly as well as this one. It's worth it to get the gun, even for one room.

does not exude quality, but fills a niche
I purchased this a couple years ago to texture the ceilings in my house after scraping the popcorn off. I will say, the product does work just fine, but not sure how it would stand up to consistent use. I will also say, if you purchase the pre-mixed containers, this will be about the most expensive way to texture you will be able to find (short of hiring someone to do the texturing for you). The pre-mixed containers do not cover very much area, and are wickedly expensive. I'd recommend getting the 3L container and mixing your own. Purchase a container or box of topping compound and thin to the consistency somewhere between pancake batter and sour cream is the recommendation I was given and seems to work well.Later, I purchased a real hopper gun and like it much better when doing larger areas, because the hopper lasts so much longer. After getting the hopper gun, I nearly chucked this gun because of it's cheap plastic feel until I realized that it fills the gap nicely between areas that are too large to use the aerosol cans of texture (very small patches), but too small to pull out a big hopper gun (much larger mess to clean up). A good area to use this gun on is a walk-in closet or similar sized area where it's smaller size (relative to a hopper gun) is an advantage.
