First I will say that I’m not great at planking at all, but that is why I bought this item. I’ve used it for about two weeks now, and I can plank a little longer than when I first started, so I can tell I’m getting stronger. The device itself is pretty simple. It is made from four pieces of plywood and had a very nice foam top. No complaints at all with the build quality. It also came with a thin foam sheet to go under the plank to keep it from slipping.I’m not sure that the plank is worth what I paid on its own, but the plank combined with the app it uses is definitely worth it.The app has a variety of modes, but I’ve really only used two so far. The video games are great and make the time go by much faster than just holding the position and suffering through the time. All of the games are based on moving left or right and holding at various angles, but they are unique enough to keep it fresh. The games hold your high score, so you know at the end if you beat your best workout. The other function I’ve used is the workout function which has you do an exercise for a specified amount of time. It had me do mountain climbers for 30 seconds, which again gives some variation and keeps you engaged. I haven’t tried it, but I did also see it has a challenge mode where it will give a progressively more difficult workout each day log your progress.Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase, since it is causing me to do a core workout that I would typically not be doing. Everything about this is high quality and although it seemed a little pricey to me, I’m very glad that I purchased this item.

I was looking for a unique gift idea for my son and his wife for Christmas and came across these in a blog somewhere. What a cool idea! After watching the video I decided to get one for my son and one for me and my husband, as well.They came quickly and were exactly as described. I immediately wrapped one for Christmas and got the other one out to try out. The download of the app was easy. The app itself is well laid out and very user friendly. The content needs built and it would be nice for the timers to be audible (or have a tone when they end) but I expect that to improve because it seems very well done.The board itself is incredibly sturdy feeling. The padding is thick and comfortable and I haven’t had any issues with discomfort on my forearms. It’s substantial enough that you feel safe standing on it. I store it in the box it comes in because it is a well made box with nice closure. We slide it under the couch when done.Now for the workout....!!!! Everything is sore. Everything. I love it. Both my husband and I downloaded the app and we compete back and forth by laying face to face with the board between us. The only downside to that sometimes we aren’t able to hold the plank as long because we burst into laughter. Who knew planking could be fun?! The distraction of the games truly does make the time fly by. We love how little time we need to spend each day to really feel a good, all over burn.We were missing a poster in one of the boxes so i reached out to the company. I received a reply the very same day asking for my address and then informing me the poster was on its way! I highly recommend!

My grown daughter and grown grandchildren have all tried this and loved this and want this. And they're all impressed because I'm moderately good at it and that's because I do it every time I run the microwave or let the dogs out... I do it where it tilts side to side then I turn on it and do it front to back... the key to working your core (in my experience) is to focus on your core and feel how differently it works the core when your hands are above your head, beside your head, shoulder height, etc... right on down the body... because you can absolutely feel it working your upper core the higher your hands are and your lower core the lower your hands are. My daughter and grandkids keep focusing on their legs, so their legs get sore, but I focus on my core and my legs don't feel it hardly at all and I can be rolling in bed at night with hard worked core muscles. I take the next day off when I've done too much like that. You want to feel a little sore, not a lotta sore. Now let's talk about the benefits to your posture and balance the rest of the day.... SUPERB. I notice I'm sitting up straight and beautiful even on the toilet... slouching doesn't feel as good and if you don't know it now is a good time to learn that the better your posture, the better your figure looks no matter your age or weight. Better is worth something. Now balance... old people lose their balance fall down, have a stroke and next thing you know they're in the nursing home. It's not that this board prevents that from ever happening, but it damn sure reduces the likelyhood a lot. :) I like this better than the green one because it's not just for planks which it's great for, but it's also for standing on and the green/yellow one is not.

I like being able to use the Plankpad to practice balance. It’s like standing on a see saw. Harder than I would have thought. It feels like I’m strengthening my feet, ankles and legs. I mainly want to strengthen my core. I do feel my core muscles being worked when doing plank exercises. The games do help add interest so as not to become boring.
