It is not plastic as written in description
Best Ikea products, only thing is they are selling double of what is Ikea's retail, but understandable as they need to ship it from Hyd and store. The base and bar is aluminium not plastic as mentioned. The lamp shade is plastic but with good metallic finish. The base is quite heavy and hence very sturdy.

It is smart.
One small issue about it is that, only regular size threaded LED lamps fit in it's holder. If you try with normal bulbs or tiny threaded bulbs you may experience something wrong with the fuse. Buy a proper threaded (9W) and use. Otherwise the product is sturdy, smart, minimalist, lovely.

Brought it as a gift and the person loves it
Ikea products are easy to assemble and reliable. This one may not be of very high quality (looks a bit plastic-y) but overall works well and looks good).

Dented product
I was excited about this order, because the lamp looked apt for reading. But it was a disappointment, as the product was dented and the price was quite high as compared to the what Ikea is selling on their website. I see others also have received similar defective products, which I sense is not a transport mishap but perhaps something being consciously sold by the seller in an attempt to sell low quality products. I returned this as it is unacceptable to keep even a slightly defected item for the price paid.

Elegant product
Ikea products are globally renowned and this was my first purchase of Ikea product. Loved the simplicity and elegance. Nothing fancy, serves the intended purpose. Being all aluminium assembly, extremely light weight and can be easily moved across places. On the flip side, needs careful handling as it is prone to dents at the mildest mishandling.
