Missing charger.
The package had 2 power cords but just 1 charger for some reason. I wasnt going to say anthing or ask about it as it is too costly to send another one. The one charger I did get will be fine. Thank you. Terry

It works BUT I DON'T TRUST it Without Supervision!
Samsung Universal Micro Home Travel Charger for Galaxy S3/S4/Note 2 - Non-Retail Packaging - White I don't usually write 3-Star reviews BECAUSE I am very careful to choose the products I buy using a combination of the Manufacturer's/Seller's claims and a HEAVY emphasis on customer reviews and experiences. SO, I bought this charger for a friend who lost their original charger for the Samsung Galaxy 4.This IS listed as a "genuine Samsung OEM" charger. I'm NOT going to openly contradict that statement, BUT let's just say that my private thoughts are my own. It may well be. It could be that the recent models are NOT what the older ones once were. BECAUSE ...This thing gets INCREDIBLY HOT when it approaches the 1.8 to 2 amps that the Galaxy draws when in "hunger mode". I would NOT even let my friend take it home and risk her letting it sit near paper or clothes when in use. I can handle it here in my house, as I have an electronics background and know how to deal defensively with such situations. Given that, EVEN I will NOT let this device run when I am not there to supervise it directly. The POTENTIAL risk is too great. At 1.2 - 1.5 amps it gets reasonably warm but nothing to be concerned about. At 1 amp and under, it performs normally and you barely know it's running. At first, I noted the results empirically, but to confirm the power levels, I bought a reliable USB voltage/current/watt meter to insert inline between the charger and device. That’s how I was able to supply the amperage numbers above.IN MY OWN OPINION, either I got a defective unit (not likely), OR “parts is parts” if you catch my drift, OR “You Can't Go Home Again” as author Thomas Wolfe wrote, OR the maximum current rating stated for this device needs to be lowered, OR, fill in the blank. AGAIN, IN MY OPINION, with the unit I received, I personally feel that the 2-amp rating is NOT safe / accurate and should be lowered. A device’s maximum current rating SHOULD be such that it can safely run at that current indefinitely. A non-technical user should NOT have to know, “this current for this long and then this current for sustained periods”, etc. How would “everyday Jack and Jill” process this information? They couldn’t and wouldn’t.NOW TO BE FAIR, this charger did NOT catch fire and did NOT ignite anything else on fire. It’s just that MY intuition tells me to watch it like a hawk, and I do. If a product needs 3 amp internal circuitry to safely and comfortably supply 2 amps, then it SHOULD have it. Period. Therefore, 3 STARS because it works. NOT LOWER than 3 STARS because it has NOT yet actually caused any damage and MAY NOT actually ever do so. NOT HIGHER than 3 STARS because I will NOT let in run outside the confines of a Pyrex bowl and I will NOT leave the house with it on.Let me be clear: with electronics connected to Mains power, there is ALWAYS a risk of malfunction and fire and we take that risk every day when we leave home with our computers running and our wall-warts plugged in. There is a certain level of risk which we seem to accept (as long as our homeowner’s / renter’s insurance is paid up), but things CAN AND DO HAPPEN EVEN WITH THE BEST OF PRODUCTS. I recently received a recall notice about s potential spontaneous combustion issue with a power surge-suppressor strip from a PROMINENT manufacturer that I purchased over 10 years ago! And look what happened with the Li-Ion / Li-Poly batteries in Hover Boards and the charge/discharge “protection circuitry” supposedly contained within them! But it can happen with a toaster, your microwave oven, a clock or your always-on, internet-connected Television. Yes there is a certain level of risk we accept, BUT when I personally observe a device acting “twitchy”, my intuition tells me something might be wrong with it. And my intuition has served me quite well in the electronics world thus far. I was fortunate recently to be present when a 7year old computer supply from a reputable manufacturer decided to enter the early stages of failure mode by emitting noxious smoke. Y'all be safe out there, OK?Your mileage may vary and you may have received a perfectly safe and working unit. Good for you and your belongings. IF there are factual mistakes with this review, or my conclusions are wrong, PLEASE contact me and let me know where you think I may have misspoken. I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be. An open mind is a good thing. I have corrected reviews in the past where I have erred and will continue to do so, IF AND WHEN I am presented with factual material. Thanks for listening.BY WAY OF FULL DISCLOSURE, I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THIS ITEM.

Extra phone charger that works ... sort of
I bought this as an extra charger for my Galaxy phone. It works great and I'm happy with it.UPDATE: Minus one star because it does not charge as fast as the OEM charger that was boxed with my phone. Even though it has the same specs. Perhaps this was meant for pre-s4 Active Galaxy phones? This is just a guess but I would estimate that charging is 30% slower which overall isn't that much of an inconvenience. But when you are in a rush and you need just a little more juice, I have to use my original OEM charger instead of this one.UPDATE: Minus another star because now it doesn't always charge. I have to fiddle with the connection to make sure it is actually charging my phone. It still charges slowly and will work in a pinch, but use your original charger if at all possible.
