Another winner from Geeetech. SHINY!
I purchased this Geeetech Gold Silk PLA filament to produce a Stargate themed cosplay hand ornament for a lady who contacted me on Facebook. After that was finished I decided to see the quality the filament could produce so I downloaded the STL for this low-poly vase from thingiverse. The texture and sheen of the finished vase can't really be captured very well, but it looks and feel spectacular. I printed it on my TEVO Tornado at 0.15mm layer height, at 210/60 for the first 3 layers and then 195/40 for the remainder. I sliced it in Cura and used vase mode. The 20CM tall vase took around 4 hours to print. This is the umpteenth reel of Geeetech PLA I've purchased and I've been impressed with all of it.

Geeetech are fast becoming one of my favourite filament brands.
So, after a good experience with the Geeetech White filament, I thought I'd give something sparklier a try. This is an interesting filament, unlike most I've used it's pretty hard to snap off the reel. It adheres to my Prusa i3 Mk3S smooth PEI bed like nothing I've ever seen - I've taken to cleaning the bed less when using this or it can actually be hard to get parts off! If you just want a PLA to stick to the bed well, buy this and don't bother reading the rest! I really mean it, I've never encountered anything like this in terms of bed adherence.I kept the settings to the Prusa defaults, which I've generally had a lot of luck with, so 60 degrees on the bed and 215 degrees on the hotend. So far I've printed a brush holder, which is nice and shiny, and then thought I'd try some multimaterial prints. The thing about multimaterial prints on the Prusa with the MMU2S, is that it has to repeatedly unload and load the filament into the nozzle. The 2 colour benchy at 0.1mm layers I printed, changed filaments 335 times during the print, the other filament used in it was Geeetech Marble. If a filament is too stringy, too soft, snaps easily, or generally uneven, multimaterial prints like this are an utter nightmare, of failed loads followed by beeping for you to manually intervene.I didn't have a single failed load during this print (or during the star trek bade, but that one was only a few loads). I'm really impressed! And, to cap it all off, like the other Geeetech filaments I've tried, the price on this is definitely right.

Beautiful colour and prints perfectly
Im a firm believer in only buying filament over £20, a rule which came about after buying cheap filament and being frustrated for hours on endSo now I make a purpose of only buying stuff over 29Ive bought a couple of Geetech rolls in the past mainly boring black and white, and I wanted something with a wow factor for a present and knew its what i neededStraight from get go with 205 as nozzle temp and 65 at bed, it stuck brilliantly, no issues whatsoeverMade this very crisp vase (though ill admit my extrusion problems were present before and they're not as bad as usual with this filament)I thought it might be glorified yellow but it really is a shiny gold! Really really happy with it!Overall i have had lots of success with Geetech filament, and this is no exception, as far as brands ive tried, this seems to definitely be near the very top alongside FilaprintDecent and affordable!

Gold Silk.. I've found my new favourite filament 😮
Up until now, I haven't really used much Silk PLA. Usually I'm printing machine parts so there's not much call for it but my kids persuaded me, we could at least add a Gold "Phil-A-Ment" to the collection they said..And I'm so glad I did! So far it has performed better on my Ender 3 than any other filament I've printed with (and I've tried dozens of brands and polymer types).Bed adhesion (Creality Glass at 60) is amazing, I can reliably lay down tiny lines of infill ready for an overlay and not have to worry about it shifting. The dimensional accuracy is so good that some of my small layer height prints are looking like solid gold. At 215 extruder temp. it barely strings, but bridges like nothing I've used before.. I scaled up a benchy to 200% (completely forgetting that the roof section has a considerable gap) and it took it completely in its stride without even so much as a sag.And how could I forgot to mention.. It's a beautiful "bling" coloured silk. The photo I've attached has not been filtered, the light catches it just right and just looks stunning!I would certainly recommend this product line, Geeetech have gone miles with quality over the last year and this Silk won't let you down!I hope this review helps you in your decision to buy, should you need any further help or advice setting up your printer to run this filament (or others), feel free to click on my profile and reach out to me 😎

I'm only buying Geetech Silk PLA from now on.
Every time I come across a new type of filament, I'm amazed, but it is usually quite expensive, so only use it sparingly.First Glow in the dark, then Silver PLA, then Pearl, then PETG, then PVA, then Nylon. But this stuff... WOW. It prints like metal. It is so shiny, layer lines just disappear into the shine.AND IT IS CHEAP. So cheap, that I bought gold, silver and blue. When I finish my current old gold (which is not gold. Silk gold is GOLD), I'm buying the copper. On the spool, it looks slightly dull, but once printed, it changes to amazing.I've said this a lot in the past, but I'm saying it again. I'm only buying Geetech Silk PLA from now on.55C bed, 195-205 nozzle. The cooler you can get it, the shinier it gets.
