Joy Enterprises 9000032 Fury Straight Pakkawood Razor

Though I cannot attest to it's sharpness (I dulled it and used it in a play), I can say this razor is incredibly sturdy. It's quite hefty, the blade is strong and the handle is reinforced. And, I must say, it's very pretty.

Needs a giner sharpener as it is not ready to split hairs but otherwise gteat quality and still plenty sharp enough to cut

I purchased it to practice my honing technique so I wouldn't ruin my nice new High quality straight razor. I used to use a Straight Razor and a Double Edged Razor back in the dark ages when in college until the day it slipped and I dropped it in the sink taking a divot out of the blade and putting a nasty chip in the sink. Sadly I couldn't afford to replace it. A few years later my DE Razor bit the dust and I started using an electric. I decided to start using a straight and DE razor again after yet another electric malfunctioned. I don't think this razor would even be good candidate to practice my honing technique. I think it will be relegated to the tool box.

i am very happy with this razor. it came well before the stated date. when it arrived it wasn't sharp enough to shave with, but that was to be expected. sharpened very easily. other reviews talked about how it was hard to sharpen, i dont know if they were trying to use a belt to sharpen it with or what. a stone and steel did the job. this is my first straight razor so im making the assumption that its not the best quality. for 7 dollars, especially considering most are 100+, this is a very good first knife.

I bought this item as a gift and it arrived yesterday. First, it was not as pictured. The natural wood handle is silver in color and styled with imitation wood grain. This was not a selling point for me but buyers should be aware of this. I ran the razor along some cardboard and it seems sharp enough to shave with, though I can't confirm this with an actual test. Three stars because it arrived on time and looks suitable but was not as pictured.

I don't use it often, but it has been fun to go back to the straight razor which I began using in college many years ago. Great razor.

For a 7 dollar Chinese knockoff, this razor looks pretty good. It was, of course, in no way remotely sharp enough to cut even twine, let alone facial hair.DO NOT buy this razor to shave with. It won't work. Most razors use a type of high carbon steel, not stainless steel. Unless you have hundreds of dollars worth of specialized sharpening stones and several strops packed with paste, this razor isn't getting sharp enough to shave with.This is, however, a great razor to practice straight edge shaving with. It also looks good sitting on the counter with the other razors. It would also make a reasonable boot razor if you were so inclined.Overall, the fit and finish are impressive for a faux razor. It looks very pretty. I enjoy seeing it on my shaving counter and it's fun to throw in my boot and pretend I'm Beatrix Kiddo's right hand man. If you want a real razor though, look at the Dovo line.

This is a good buy. Most foreign countries don't second guess this being in your luggage when you arrive on their soil. It's sharp, easy to carry and not commonly thought of as a weapon. Just stick it in with your toothpaste and you're good to go. Just a thought.
