It's a bit on the sad side when the highlight of your day is a new toilet seat, but nevertheless, it is what it is. It's true that the old one was well past its throw away date and on the back of that little fact, I don't think I have ever been as pleased with a purchase decision as I was with this particular seat.I purchased the beech type which has a lovely deep brown/red colour and comes in a high gloss finish, which to my mind, is easier to keep clean and looks really nice, too. It was super easy to install and as I have a non functional left hand at present, I did it with one hand. In fact the only hard part about fitting this seat was getting the old one off, especially when you only have one good hand to work with. You just have to remember that the dome-shaped end of the rubber washers, directly face the underside of the hole through which the screws go through, and the metal washers connect with the flat part. This is to ensure a the dome shaped part gets squeezed into the fitting holes and ensues a good tight fit. It literally took a few minutes to fit the new one as opposed to around 20 mins to get the old one off.I also love the soft close feature, although this is not the reason I chose this particular seat. I chose it because it looked sturdy and robust and in that regard I wasn't disappointed, either. The fittings are metal with a chrome finish and looks and feels like it will last and not fall apart with use. The soft close feature was just a bonus which I really like and works well and is noiseless except for a gentle click as it connects with the wooden seat or toilet rim.Overall, I am so glad I chose this one as opposed to others I looked at and for the price, you can't go wrong. I am really pleased with this particular seat and feel I couldn't have made a better choice if I had tried.

Had seat for a week now. Easy to fit with multiple manoeuvre options before easily being secured with provided wee plastic 'spanner'. Comes well packaged. Nice and shiny glossy look. Slow self-closing. Hopefully the mechanisms will be long-lasting and the glossy expensive look will last ;)

Good look in bathroom pleased with the actual seat but chrome fittings soon rust - hence inky 4 stars

When this toilet seat first arrived I was very impressed with the build quality. The hinge seemed sound, it was easy to clean and straightforward to fit, so I was happy. However, the vendor's claims about it being 'unbreakable' (see product information, under non-slip buffer section) is completely wrong as my seat was fitted for less than one year, in an ensuite (so low usage) and as my photos show, it's broken.Stating it is 'Durable and Stable for Long Service Life' and 'Heavy duty' is very misleading. This toilet seat is not fit for purpose and does not live up to its claims. I approached the vendor and they offered a goodwill gesture of £4 as it was 2 weeks out of warranty (even though I told them we hadn't fitted it for a month, so it had been used for 11 months and 2 weeks). Don't buy this seat if you genuinely want all they claim this one to be, because it won't deliver.I'm so disappointed, both with the misleading claims and also the vendor sticking to the statutory 1-year warranty rules. That doesn't scream confidence in their 'long service life' claims to me - but it's your choice! Personally I'll not be buying another one and if I could award it zero stars, I would.

Looks good, feels solid and closes smoothly, but only after I spent quite some time adjusting the hinge fixings to the correct width. Still not sure I did it correctly, but it does now fit although not perfectly as it is not completely central which is a bit irritating. Details state the hinge is adjustable 13-17.5cm but the instructions are useless in this regard. Loosening the screws on each hinge allows a limited range of adjustment but not sure this covers all possibilities between 13 and 17.5cm.
