LOVE This Dress!!!
What can I say? I *love* this dress! As a previous poster mentioned, it is not the sunny-lemon yellow that I thought it was going to be, but I know that all computer monitors are different, so it is certainly not the sellers fault. It is an odd shade of yellow, leaning more towards chartreuse, but not in a bad way. Just has a slightly greenish tone to the yellow. I must admit, if I had seen this dress at a store, I probably would have passed it by, based solely on the color, because I never thought it would be a becoming shade on me. But pair this dress with black accessories (I put a black belt, wide brimmed sun hat, kitten heels, petticoat, cardigan and gloves with it) and it looks amazing and also softens the color a bit.The fit of this dress is great too. Typically, I have a tremendously difficult time finding dresses that fit me properly. As per recommendations from other buyers of this dress and other GownTown dresses made with the same type of material, I ordered one size down from what their size chart said was my size. I am very glad I did, because this dress has a LOT of stretch! Its an unusual material, but I like it, and am happy that I actually found a dress that I didn't need to have altered to fit me right. I like the weight of fabric, and the dress is well-made.The style of this dress is super cute, and perfect for my vintage/retro closet! I love that it has sleeves...seems like so many retro-style dresses are sleeveless, and I don't care for showing my arms. I paired this dress with a black cardi (which looked super cute), but it looked equally great without the cardi. The neckline is lovely, and has very pretty detailing.I can tell right now that I will definitely be buying more dresses from GownTown, because of the awesomeness of this dress and their lightning fast shipping! I recommend this dress!

Perfect dress for a 50's dance
I was not sure when purchasing this dress online if it would fit, be at all flattering, or made well enough to last through the night. I bought the XXL to ensure it had a touch of added length. I am 5'11" and wear a size 16-18W. I loved the dress. It had just enough stretchwhere is was needed and the fabric was heavy enough but soft and moved well, the hem fell perfectly, and the fit was perfect. I have a smaller bust so the XXL had more room in the top and if someone had a larger bust would have continued to fit them but the stretch to the material ensured a good fit. The waist was a bit lower than my natural waist - but that had more to do with my not having a bust for the XXL - I am only a B cup) It was comfortable to wear, washed well, and I was very surprised with the workmanship. I love this dress and have worn it three times to events now!

Great look, bizarre fabric
UPDATE: I kept the dress. It was NOT AT ALL HOT to wear. I don't know how it will wash, but it was a great for an event! I wore a short, not very full crinoline -- I recommend an even longer, fuller one for the right look. But I'm highly satisfied. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. It's not a great frequent-wear purchase, but if you want a vintage look for an event, it's a great buy.I haven't decided whether to keep the dress or not -- I bought it to wear to a swing dance, and it looks great and is nicely made. The problem is the fabric, which has a bizarre, rubbery feel. I only need it for one night, and it's a good value for a one-time costume, but I love to dance and wonder if it will be really, really hot. I also doubt it will look good after a wash.Note: The fabric is SUPER stretchy (which is why some people say they wear it backward for a sailor suit look) but then tightens so if you have any lumps they will show! I am petite and curvy and wear a size 8, I bought a small and it fits like a glove. Literally.

Adorable, but fabric feels awful
I absolutely loved the way this dress felt on me and looked on me. It is an absolutely adorable dress and fairly period accurate as well. I also fell in love with the little bow at the back, it was probably the best part of the dress. My only complaint, and ultimately the reason why I don't like the dress, is the fabric. It literally feels like a reusable tablecloth. When I ran my hands down the skirt, it felt incredibly plastic-y. It also sounds plastic-y when you move. It's just uncomfortable. It also smells awful, which might go away with washing, but I'm not sure. I bought it for a dance, but I know that should I have worn it to the dance it would stink so badly by the end of the night from all the sweating. Oh, also, there aren't pockets if that's important to you. Not a 100% deal breaker for me, but they're most certainly nice to have. Ultimately, if you're okay with a plastic feeling dress, I'm sure this dress will serve you well. It is cute, functional, and fits really well. But if you're concerned about your clothes feeling or smelling like plastic, this might not be the best choice for you.

Great dress for the price!
Got this for my 17 year old and it fit her perfectly! Fabric is perfect for a light weight dress for Fall or Spring. The bust/bodice is slightly reinforced to give the dress a better fit. Great swing dress for everyday or special event wear.
