I was at several sporting goods and athletic shoe stores trying to find a light weight close toed hiking shoe, with a good traction sole to wear around Japan this summer in the heat and humidity and likely rain. I could not find anything like the Flarut sandal even for $150. After researching on line, I kept coming back to this shoe because the reviews sounded just like what I was looking for. I am so happy with this purchase, they are exactly everything I wanted, I would have been paying much more had I seen anything like this in stores. Super comfortable, excellent tread on a very flexible sole, well made and almost no weight at all. Tightened the bungie ties once to fit, and have not had to do anything more except slip them on. I have worn them exclusively now since I got them 2 weeks ago, since they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I hike 4 miles every morning, a mix of concrete and then beach sand. These are the first shoes that somehow do not get sand in them, not sure how since they are low cut and pretty open, but no sand. I wear them around the house, working in the yard, out at night even, since they look good as well as comfortable. I will probably need another pair by the time I travel to Japan in July. I also have gotten them wet and they still stay comfortable and dry fast. Only thing I did was add an additional insole under the very nice breathable, light weight insole that came with the shoe.. I have some severe toe damage issues from years of breaking things with my feet in martial arts and have a special insert to support my toes. I wear a size 101/2 normally, so got the 11 to make sure I had room for the added insert. Worked perfectly and gave additional cushion and arch support which is likely the reason I can walk 4 miles and wear them all day long with no problems. However even with my special insoles I can't wear any of my other shoes that long and still be comfortable. Can't recommend them enough if you are looking for a shoe like this, Great product and I am going to buy a few more pairs just to have in stock.

Good quality shoe very comfortable for walking along the beach.

I wanted a shoe that is breathable, but not a sandal. (I'm really not fond of sandals.) I used to have a pair of brand-name beach/pool shoes that worked wonderfully, but they finally gave up. These shoes looked a lot like the shoes I had, and were at a good price point.For me, they fit the bill. They breathe well, and I feel Ok about wearing them all day. My use of these shoes will be very casual, and as far as that goes, I think they're fine. Without socks, they're a little scratchy--that may change as I continue to wear them.These shoes are billed as suitable for hiking, walking, fishing, beach, volleyball, cycling, jogging, and driving. Of those activities, I would say they are not at all suited for hiking, cycling, jogging, or walking any distance. They have no arch support to speak of, and would likely cause blisters unless worn with reasonably thick socks. If you're looking at these shoes for any of the aforementioned activities, I would look somewhere else. This is why I subtracted two stars.For me personally, for my needs, they work. I'll be keeping them. If I wanted them for anything beyond casual use, I'd be sending them back.

Bought these shoes to use around the hot tub, therapy pool. They work great, and provide proper cushion for walking to the gym. the shoe fits great and I was concerned as I have a wide foot.

Looks nice, feels ok, but very flimsy. I tried several of these over the years, different brands, none lasted more than a couple of months. I eventually switched to crocs.

Form fitting and light weight, but recommend wearing low cut sox. For me, this is the second pair. Not because of wearout, but because one of the eyelets pulled through while lacing. The soles are majorly tough and grippy.

Unpacked my shoes from the box went to put them on pulled on the adjuster string and it snapped. Also the adjuster stop just slides on the strings so it’s not like they do anything anyways. Second is that the they have very uneven soles and aren’t very even with odd pressure points. Super Cheap Charlie shoes and would look for something different. Not even worth sending back to get my $33 straight to the trash.

I like this shoe a great deal. It is comfortable and is a great summer shoe for the Texas heat. I do not do well with sandals, so the breathability of this shoe is perfect. It is almost like a dressy beach shoe. I recommend this shoe.
