Fast and simple. Mailed sample via $6 USPS on Friday, got results the next Thursday.I'll definitely use this product and service again.

I have seen a lot of reviews that say people sent a sample and never got the results. I have had about half a dozen samples tested by ALS Global (that's who does these analyses) over the last two years, and never had a problem with the lab. I did however have a problem with the USPS delivering the sample. My last sample was lost by the USPS. Good thing I had tracking on it and filed a claim. They found my shipment, only to lose it again for another two weeks before actually deliveriing it almost 45 days after I shipped it. BTW, it was only going from Dallas to Atlanta..., not very far. Anyway, once the lab receives the sample, the test is pretty quick and they email you the results. Great value and the results have been great for me, but make sure you track your shipment. As other have said, the USPS does not like shipping liquids or anything that says "sample" or "oil" on it, even though there are no rules against it. Also, some people have said there is no interpretation of the results. That is not the case, I have had interpretation on all my results. See the attached of my last report.

I sent my sample out on April 1st, it is now June 10th and I still have not been sent the oil sample results! I have no idea why it is taking so long but I am sure they will blame the post office! I should have listened to the other reviews on here and stayed far away from this service.

Took a little over 2 weeks to get the results. Good information but would like to see a little more. Overall pretty happy with it.

I was able to get the WIX oil analysis kit at a savings over what I pay for a similar kit from Blackstone Oil Labs. I sent duplicate samples of used motor oil that had been in service for 9400 miles/10 months to Blackstone and the lab that WIX uses (I mailed mine to the lab in Oregon) and they returned statistically similar numbers, especially considering we're talking about wear metals (lead/iron/aluminum/tin, etc.) in the 10ppm and less range. It appears to be an interchangeable option with places like Blackstone for me.Note: I have found that the USPS has something against mailing small cylinders that say "Oil" or "Liquid" on the outside, even though used motor oil is completely safe and permitted to be sent via mail. This bias often resulted in my samples taking 1-2 weeks or even many months to get to their destination. I switched to sending them inside a small box (small oil filter boxes wrapped with brown paper sometimes work well) and they seem to get there within a few days. I also don't write "oil" in the address and abbreviate it instead (OAL for the WIX kit) just to try and gives the USPS worker one less reason to hold up my package. Pain in the butt, yes, but my used oil gets to its destination on time.

It took 3 months to get my results, not sure if they or the USPS lost the sample or what. Emailed them every couple of weeks and finally the results were in. I bought two more kits to test both of my automatic transmissions, with the money saved vs. the other labs out there, it's worth spending a couple bucks more and sent it USPS priority so you at least know it arrived OK. So, $16 vs $35 is a good deal for the same type of report. I will say the other more expensive lab gives you the flashpoint and percent of insolubles.2/13/2017 UPDATE : I've since used 4 more of these kits since reviewing the product. In both cases I was sampling engine and transmission, so I had 2 bottles to send and boxed them up and sent it Priority Mail. I got the results in less than a week. They also have a web interface you can log in to, and check the status of your sample(s).

I was using these for my personal vehicles for the last 8 years, and now use them at work. One hint is put them in a box for shipping, they seem to arrive faster that way because they can be machine scanned I was told by my postmaster. Really helps spot issues before they get expensive, can also help determine oil change intervals.

They did not pay any attention to what oil was being checked on. Even that the oil to be tested was clearly written in the proper place, they presumed it was a 15w-40. It was not! And not the brand of oil. But an Mercedes M oil, 0w-40.

Quick from delivery right thru being analysed. Analysis is quite complete, ranging from metal and water contents + TBN. Results where clear. In my case, with 7500km on Dino oil, 50/50 driving, oil had just a bit of life left. RECOMMENDED!

Great kit, awesome gift idea for a motor-head or car enthusiast.

The lab addresses included with the bottles in some cases are non-existent also it is not made clear that lab costs are not included
