Perfect for rutabaga and turnip fries for the keto diet
On the keto diet potatoes are a no no so I searched for an alternative until I heard about turnips. I wondered if a French fry cutter would be able to cut a turnip like a potato so I decided to gamble on this model. There are a few things that you must know about using this device. First of all it must be secured to your table or countertop using the suction cups on the bottom or you will have a very hard time cutting the vegetable. Secondly do not heat up the vegetables or it will not go through the blades and will get mashed instead of cut. Thirdly because of the limited space between the blade and the pressure point cut the vegetable to a small size so it goes evenly through the blade. If you follow these 3 steps, you'll make perfectly cut fries. As for frying turnips it can be done in an air fryer for 30 minutes or a deep fryer in less than 5 minutes. Tastes similar to a potato. This device was meant for potatoes but can be used on rutabagas or turnips for those on a low carb diet. So far I've made 3 batches of fries and have no complaints. Highly recommend for those who want to make their own fries at home.

great product for the price
I used it on russet potatoes and it worked perfectly. As you see the picture and you imagine what you want to do with it it worked exactly like that. I did not use it on sweet potatoes yet I understand there's a couple other processes you should do because they are tougher product but it worked great. With that said I have pretty good critical thinking skills so you have to place the potato in the middle of the grid and make sure it fits within the grid. Sounds like common sense but I put a larger potato in there than I should have but I stop pressing because I'm paying attention to the progress. I had to cut the top of the potato with a knife so that I could continue pushing it through the grid. easy just look at what you're doing. I cut 20 potatoes only use at one time we'll see how long it lasts. Was easy to clean just be careful the stainless steel grid is very sharp, no DHA it has to cut potatoes right,, it'll cut your finger too. at this point I would buy it again

Good Enough.
I'm not a professional by any means but it works enough for me to get the job done. Makes fries 1000% easier and we use it for cubing potatoes for breakfast. The rear will un-suction from my counter and it's a awkward to clean in our sink. I'm happy I bought it and would do so again.

After a year it is failing
I have had this slicer for about a year. At the beginning it was working fine. But after a few months it was becoming harder and harder to get the potatoes to go through the blade. I have determined that the blade is becoming dull. I have tried to sharpen the blade using a file and carefully shaping each small hole one at a time. This helped and it started to slice much easier. But in the last month one of the side rails that the guides are on is failing and not allowing the slide to move easily over the area where the rail is failing. This makes the action difficult to use at the end of the slicing stroke to get the potato completely through the blade. I haven't used this slicer very much, about once or twice a week. Not recommended. if you plan on using it for years and years!

Works for 2 or 3 inch potatoes. Have to be strong to use it.

One of the best
This is so much better than all of those cheap ones out there, so if you're on a budget, just save your money for this one. I know because I bought one of the cheap ones and it was always hard to use, even with small potatoes. This thing will take a nice size potato and woosh, you're done. Nice leverage and the construction is solid, so the potato doesn't have a chance. I even tried it with the skins on and both cutting attachments worked fine using just a little extra effort. The suction attachment is OK, not super, but most of the times it helps and it's a good stabilizer. Either way, if you like fries, you can't go wrong with this one. Highly recommended. :-)

Great potato slicer
Everyone needs this for your kitchen. Works great, perfect size for French Fries. You could cook them in your air fryer but I didn’t like the way they turned out. They were not as good when fried in a good oil on top of the stove or in your own deep fryer. You will love them. Family should love them too.

Not great
Yes I’ve had it for a while used it 3-4 times super hard to get anything through it blades not sharp or just not enough leverage I’m not sure the bar that connects the handle to the slide has become more and more bent with each use it’s probably worth finding a more durable cutter
