happy pets
This is my second set of Training collars., I used a different kind before these and there is no comparison. The other one used batteries, this one can be recharged. The other remote could not be seen at night and it did not have as many features as this one has. I have a female pit bull and a Jack Russell. Guess who the problem is, yep, its the Russell. I found that with these collars you only to use the vibration to get their attention. I tried it on my leg to see how it felt. It was not painful at all. It was just enough to stop any situation they may be in. Honestly I felt such guilt at having to use a training collar because the first one was painful for them. This one is not painful. It could be if I needed it to be, but the second they see it their whole demeanor change for the better.. I walk them without a leash at certain times of the day and they stay very close to me. If I say sit those butts hit the ground in record speed. They are constantly watching me see what the next command may be. I got these were because I had hip replacement surgery and a couple of close calls with my rescue Pit. None of it was her fault, she was a young dog with alot of energy. I couldn't risk falling. I tried everything but I knew it would be a long time before she would totally obey on command only. These were a God send to me. The both of them have sprouted little wings and halos. I have no reservations about walking them, taking them to the dog park or them breaking away to chase a bird or squirrel. We have a great relaxed time when we go outside. I would more than recommend these to anyone who wants to stop bad behaviors without hurting the dogs its wonderful to be able to sit outside with friends etc. and not worry about my dogs. My only wish is that they had given 2 chargers instead of 1.

Definitely recommend
Wish the collars could get smaller than they do as I have a Boston Terrier that has a smaller neck so it fits a bit loose on her. But for my other Boston it fits perfectly. Using them more for redirection (barking/Jumping when we have visitors, etc) And so far we haven't even had to use the shock feature. We use the vibrate mode and it does wonders. It lets the dogs know that they need to stop. Sometimes I have to send the vibrate more than once, but usually after a couple times they know that they are being redirected. I think we have had to use the shock feature once and they seemed to give the same response as the vibrate so we have just continued with that. I think it startles them more than anything. We often get the "What the...." jump response. It's quite entertaining. But definitely lets them know that what they are doing is not okay. Love the waterproof feature so I don't have to worry about sending them out in the rain. Or water slobber.I have always been hesitant to use a training collar with my dogs because I look at them like my babies. I don't like to use violence as a training tool so training collars always seemed cruel to me. I opted for these collars because of the beep and vibrate options. I did put the collar on my leg (fitted around so I knew what they would feel) and tested the shock feature on myself so I knew what they would be experiencing. It is not a SHOCK as I thought it would be. It is more like a static zap. Much like you would get if you touch a door knob and get a quick zing. Scares you more than anything. I did not test high level as there is no need for that in my opinion. So I set it to where I could get almost a static pinch and I thought that is enough. Like I said, we have only used that function once and have opted for the vibrate instead. Not to say that we wont use it if we needed to. But they've done pretty good. The hardest part is remembering to carry the remote with you. Now if only they had a training collar for us to remember that.

Concept good, bad delivery
This is my second two dog set and this one acts the same as the other one does, unfortunately. I thought it was my numbness for the reason that the second collar wouldn't stay working, but my husband tried it and same thing. The concept is great, but it just doesn't work for two dogs. The plug in for the collars is in a bad place which is under the nylon collar itself. It's hard to plug it in how it's designed. It comes with only one plug so you have to charge one for 6 hours, then charge the other for 6 hours, then the remote for 6 hours. It should at least come with a plug for the remote and the transmitter at least. You can't correct your dog(s) right away because the transmitter goes to sleep, which it does say. Like I said good concept, just bad delivery. I am returning the collars because the second one doesn't work and I find it ridiculous that I only have one charger for three items that need charging. I am purchasing a different e-collar.

Works well if you know what to expect
This is not a bark collar, it's a training collar. There is no 'auto' correction. The remote must be used for correction. If you are trying to correct quickly you have to have the remote in hand and ensure it isn't in sleep mode. If you need to correct quickly you have to first hit "mode", then the "correct" button (assuming it's on the mode you want- vibrate vs. shock, etc.) Also, once you change the mode, it will remain in that mode for both collars until you change it. One of our dogs reacts to vibrate while the other does not. So not only are we switching back and forth between collars, but also between modes (there are 4) which can be a handful of you are trying to correct both dogs at the same time. It would be nice if the battery lasted longer, but of course that depends on use. Charging them could be easier; I assume the placement of the charge port is to help with water resistance, but you have to lift/remove the collar from the unit to access port to charge. Based on our experience it appears that each unit takes about an hour to recharge once dead. Also would be nice for an option of two chargers so both could be charged at once.Overall not a bad buy for the price if you know what you are getting.
