Great Addition to My Bike
I ordered these on a Sat and they arrived Tuesday morning. They were packaged well and included an instruction book. You can also download the instructions from the Dakota Digital website ahead of time if you want to get a look ahead.Installation was pretty easy if you are a little mechanically inclined. Took me about 2 hours total including changing out the oil drain plug for the oil temp sensor.Download the Dakota Digital Orange App in the app store. Set up for Bluetooth always on.In my case the odometer reading had to be transferred using the Trip Function button programming method as opposed to the phone app. Then I started setting up the displays I wanted on each gauge. I set mine up with 2 readings on each of the small gauges and 2 readings each under the Speedo and the Tach. That gave me 10 numerical readings of information. There is also the fuel bar on top of the Speedo and the Tach bar on top of the Tach.I went to set the clock and it would not keep the hour setting that I would try and save. It would revert to 1 hour prior to the actual time no matter what I set it at. It occurred to me the next day that I probably had DST option selected in the Boom Box settings. I checked and I did have it selected. When I turned that setting off and then manually changed the clock in the Boom Box, it also changed the clock time in the new gauges. A call to DD also confirmed that the clocks are synched, but you cannot use DST setting in the Boom Box. It is great to be able to call a company talk to a live person when you call.Choosing a color theme can be a lifelong adventure. There are numerous preset combo and solid color themes and you can pick. And then you change individual colors inside these themes. You can save 3 custom themes that you create and can load at any time – as long as it in Set Up mode. The 1st ride I took was at night and the colors looked great. Since I live in the sunshine state, I was very curious to see what they would look like in the daytime. My night colors showed up fine until I put my Costas on. They pretty much wiped out everything except the large Speedo and Tach numbers. After experimenting with some colors, I opted on an all white for sunshine and a shade of the green for overcast days. I still have to shift my head a little here and there to see the white and green on the small gauges with my sunglasses but still worth it to me.The 1st ride showed that the gear display was working, except when I stopped at a light and put it in Neutral it showed 0 as the gear as opposed to the traditional green N. Never fear, about 25 miles into the ride I clicked into Neutral at another stop and the familiar green N popped up and appears it is here to stay. While I have not compared the speed to a GPS yet, it seems pretty close with the corresponding Tach readings. But I will compare and there is an adjustment if it needs to be done.I filled up on fuel and am following the directions to get the system to Learn the DTE calculation. I will most likely do the Learn 2 times just to make sure. Part way thru this 1st tank it does seem to be pretty accurate already.Note that the cruise control standby color is red as opposed to the familiar yellow in the stock gauges. It changes to Green when engaged. High beam is the same blue color we are used to.The check engine light is Red and it came on during my 1st ride. Bike was running fine but when I got home I went thru the diagnostics programming and took a pic of each the 2 error codes it was displaying. They were P0522 and U0156. I found the error codes on line and 1 of them was lost communication codes and the other was oil pressure sensor. After a little further research, it seems that changing gauges sometimes triggers 1 or more error codes. It was suggested to clear them and ride to see if they return. I cleared them and have ridden about 60 miles on 2 rides and they have not returned.Overall I am pretty happy with my purchase so far.

Wow! Very impressed.
Old HD system was losing sound, NOT power just sound. I did have an AMP installed so I by-passed that went straight to speakers. Still lost sound. Read forums after forums, most said that these HD stereos did this. I found a site that would repair this issue, low and behold they were ex Harman employees that knew the issue. I chose to go with a Sony system and I like it very much. However I did not have an oil pressure reading any more, just an idiot light. Did not like this at all. I spoke with Dakota Digital and was surprised at the outstand and prompt responses from this company, any way I was informed that these gauges did have oil pressure. I did not see it listed, so contacting the company was a must. I received the gauges installed them (easy) and now I have my oil pressure on the left gauge and soooooo much more. Very happy I went with these gauges. On the fence, get off and buy them, you will not be unsatisfied. You will be blown away. Great Company.

Speedo went out so I upgraded
2016 Road Glide. Speedometer went out so instead of 3-400$ on a new speedo/tac I just went with the Dakota Gauges. I’m not a professional mechanic by any means however I am mechanically inclined and do my own mechanic work to all of my vehicles. This took about 2 hours to complete. I found it easier to just drain the oil to put in the oil temp sensor than to try to plug as oil is coming out. So far I am very happy with the gauges. There’s substantially more information than in the stock setup. Typically I prefer an analog gauge but the digital are growing on me. Once you swallow the fact to spend $1000 bucks it’s all downhill from there. I’ll say the Dakota gauges have an aluminum housing and seem very well built vs the cheap plastic housing on the stock gauges.

Just want to explain why I returned the items and asked for them to be reshipped
When I went to install it, I noticed these two imperfections on the screen in the main central gauge. shipping was perfect, and they were packed well (although 100% of the air was out of the quilted material, please check your air machine!)

The quality of the product. Did it function properly.
I like the quality of the product. I like the old style better that I have on my other bike. The item was used on a 16 Road Glide.
