Known trusted quanity
I bought this to test a riser for higher mounted optics and passive night vision shooting. There are some nice riser options from companies that usually run around $60. I didn't want to commit that much money to test the concept, so I bought the Magpul riser to mount on a CTR and test it. I did this by just cutting it in two and it allowed me to see if I liked the concept and test the various heights. The riser is made by Magpul to firt their stocks and thuse fits perfectly and matches the color if that is a concern.

It Is Grea
But, I have a different MagPul stock that this one doesn’t fit so I had to return it.If I had the right stock, I would have kept and I highly recommend it.

Magpul 1/4 riser
Had to cut the extended part down to clear the charging handle but knew that before it was bought. Works perfect for my LPVO. Mounts solid to the Magpul stock. I would recommend this to anyone looking to adjust their cheek height for better alignment to there scope.

1/4" riser is the perfect height for me (additional fit recommendations included in review)
I purchased all 3 heights of this riser, and as such I'm leaving more or less identical reviews on each product. I've included my thoughts on all three size options.I have a fairly slender face and with a good cheek weld my sight picture was substantially low with an AR. I had expected that the half inch riser would be the right size for me, but upon installing I found it to be slightly too high even when pushing my cheek hard into the stock. The quarter inch riser turned out to be pretty close to perfect, which was somewhat surprising that so little rise could make such a big difference. The .75" riser never even came out of the bag, as it would have provided far too much rise for the shape of my face. After buying all 3 sizes and returning two, here are my personal thoughts on choosing the right sized riser (assuming you're using somewhere around a 4x to 8x magnified optic, at max magnification if adjustable):-if you have a small amount of scope shadow at the top of your FOV, you should probably try the .25" riser (this one). This is probably what most adult men require when they feel that their cheek weld is too light.-if around half of the top of your FOV is enveloped in scope shadow, try the .5" riser. This is likely a good option for adult women that feel that they need to lift their cheek nearly or completely off the stock to get a good sight picture.-if most or all of your FOV is enveloped in scope shadow, try the .75" riser. I'd imagine that the would be a good option for young shooters, as few adults would require this much additional height.Since it can be tricky to figure out which size you need, I highly recommend that the first time you install one of these, you place a piece of paper folded over itself for thickness between the stock and the riser so that the riser can easily be removed if it is too high or too low. Without this, it's very difficult to remove the riser without marring it or the stock, or both. Finally, keep in mind that this WILL interfere with your charging handle unless your stock is fully extended. That's true with all three sizes, and most other risers on the market.Overall I'm pretty pleased with this purchase. It brought my eye more in line with where it needed to be with a proper cheek weld, and I was aware that it would interfere with the gun's charging handle before I purchased it. My only complaint is that it cost half as much as the CTR stock that it's installed on.

Good product but needs redesign.
This is a good product. Magpul makes awesome polymer products for firearms. I use an ebr stock on my ar weapons. And for scopes setups, I need a riser to get solid cheek weld with a fast draw. These risers click right into the stock, which is awesome, however, your stock must be fully extended to charge an ar. I use my ars in the third position on the stock, so I ended up trimming the forward wing of the riser to the point that I could charge the rifle from my stock position. Magpul needs to come up with a version of these that allows people to use those on ar rifles. I know it’s possible cause I’ve don’t it. IDE just lie it to look better.

AR platforms suck for pple like me with thin faces who cant get a good cheek weld. This makes it GREAT. YES you can use the charging handle but only when a standard collapsible stock is FULLY extended. This would be tits for an AR platform that has a forward charging handle, like the Adcore AR15. Use spacers to gauge how much height you need before buying. For me, this worked fine for a red dot, but I needed a .50" riser for my ACOG to properly align my eye to the scope.
