AlpineSpiced Apple Cider Original Instant Drink Mix, 12-Count .81-Ounce Cups

Finally "bit the bullet" and purchased a KEURIG unit for our home this past Christmas. We ARE NOT coffee drinkers at all, but enjoy cocoa and hot apple cider as our HOT beverages of choice. In the past, I had always enjoyed the individual PACKETS of ALPINE SPICED APPLE CIDER mix purchased locally, often putting 2-3 packets in an XL thermal mug to "see me through" half the day. People knew I was in proximity as the pleasant aroma of my hot apple cider scented the air. Therefore at Christmas, I wasn't surprised to find Keurig pods of hot apple cider (though, an alternate brand) under our tree.I tried the gifted alternate NATURAL APPLE CIDER brand via our new Keurig and was disappointed to say the least. It was "sour" tasting - akin to a Granny Smith apple. It was bland; no SPICE flavoring whatsoever. A total let-down!During one of my AMAZON on-line shopping excursions, I spied the ALPINE SPICED APPLE CIDER pods. I purchased a 12 pack of ALPINE CIDER PODS via AMAZON. The package arrived quickly and without issue. I was excited to try it and swiftly made a bee-line for the Keurig machine. Of course it would take 2-3 pods to fill my oversized mug (not unlike my experience with the "regular" packet mix), but I was prepared for that. The initial ALPINE pod dispensed nicely, but to my surprise, the second pod only dispensed about 2 ounces of hot apple cider. (I'm not sure why, but this happened again on another occasion, as well.) HOWEVER - the TASTE of the ALPINE CIDER KEURIG brew was just what I was expecting... SPICY, cinnamon type flavor - DELICIOUS! No bland "sour" taste at all. The sweetness level was a little more than I was expecting, though - however I had become accustomed to mixing the regular ALPINE PACKET versions, both ORIGINAL and SUGAR FREE in order to cut down on sugar/calories. So, this "oversweet sensation" was not unusual/unexpected. (Perhaps it could be resolved via dilution with water.)Now, the BAD NEWS... while the KEURIG ALPINE APPLE CIDER is good, the price makes it an "indulgence" to say the least ($.63/pod). The regular ALPINE APPLE CIDER PACKETS available in local retail stores is much more reasonable (about $.20/packet) - with the added bonus of being available in SUGAR-FREE versions. To my knowledge, the ALPINE PODS are not offered in sugar-free versions. Another CAVEAT of the ALPINE PODS -- at least two pods thus far have MALFUNCTIONED (only a few ounces of brew dispensed). Dispensing malfunctions not observed with various other coffee/cocoa pods used thus far.

Much tastier than a couple other brands. I'll keep buying this one.

Other brands I’ve tried just don’t measure up to Alpine’s product—and I’ve tried others to save money. This is one of those products I just can’t skimp on. The apple flavor is rich and has the perfect amount of spice. This is simply the best hot, spiced cider on the market! I use my Keurig. The pods work perfectly,
