BRAND NEW UNCUT General Motors Vehicles TRANSPONDER CHIP KEY | This listing is for one (1) single BRAND-NEW FACTORY SEALED replacement "TRANSPONDER CHIP KEY" and easy to follow (no special skills or tools) programming instructions for the General Motors (GM) Vehicles Listed Below. We provide you the easy to follow 'user-friendly' programming instructions, and then you can program it yourself for free! Your only cost is the price of this keyblank and the cost of getting it cut. It can be cut by the dealer or a good hardware store for about $2.00. You can program this key yourself, even if you have no working keys, you will just need to have it cut. This key is not generally available. It is available only at the dealer and from certain locksmiths. The advantage to all of this is that car thefts have decreased since the introduction of the TRANSPONDER key system. The disadvantage is that you will pay a lot more for these high security keys. fits following Years & Model vehicles (updated 3/31/2014): 2008 - 2012 Buick Enclave // 2006 - 2012 Buick Lucerne // 2008 - 2012 CADILLAC CTS (w/o prox) // 2006 - 2012 CADILLAC DTS // 2007 - 2013 CADILLAC ESCALADE // 2007 - 2009 CADILLAC SRX // 2007 - 2013 CHEVY AVALANCHE // 2008 - 2013 CHEVY EXPRESS VAN // 2007 - 2013 CHEVY IMPALA // 2004 - 2013 CHEVY MALIBU // 2006 - 2007 CHEVY MONTE CARLO // 2007 - 2013 CHEVY SILVERADO // 2007 - 2013 CHEVY SUBURBAN // 2007 - 2013 CHEVY TAHOE // 2009 - 2013 CHEVY TRAVERSE // 2007 - 2013 GMC ACADIA // 2008 - 2013 GMC SAVANA VAN // 2007 - 2013 GMC SIERRA // 2007 - 2013 GMC YUKON // 2008 - 2009 HUMMER H2 // 2007 - 2009 PONTIAC TORRENT // 2005 - 2010 PONTIAC G6 // 2007 - 2010 SATURN AURA // 2007 - 2010 SATURN OUTLOOK // 2007 - 2009 SUZUKI XL7 not endorsed nor manufactured by General Motors (our part K03CS)

Works for my 2011 HHR
I definitely wanted to write a review, seeing as two of the other ones said this WOULDN'T work in my car. We have a 2011 HHR, and there were two criteria written by users (I think the VIN ending in 3 or 4, and the VIN starting in 4?) that our car does match, and that apparently means this won't work in our particular model. However, it works great!I figured I'd give it a shot anyway, as $9.95 is far better than $70 or so. The first Walmart I went to couldn't do it; their machine saw the key, and recognized it, but wouldn't cut it. They sent me a few miles away to see if it would work at that location, and it went through just fine. Guy didn't even charge me for the cut. I programmed it right in the parking lot (I was impatient to see if it would actually work) in literal moments, and yeah it's working perfectly. Long story short, if you have a 2011 HHR whose VIN starts or ends with the apparent blacklisted numbers, I'd still try it out, as this saved us a bunch of money.

great way to save $$ if you can screw in a lightbulb prog. the key will be just as easy
we have spare keys and fobs for all of our vehicles except for the hhr. just got the key and had our locksmith cut it for all of ten bucks. then came home programed it, so easy to do for gm vehicles and now we have peace of mind having a spare and not getting gouged by the dealer. fyi for gm vehicles like our 08 hhr and my sister's 02 grand prix the steps are all the same for keys,To program a new key.1. insert your present key, start and shut off the engine.2. remove key.3. insert new key within 30 seconds and turn on the ignition.4. wait 10 seconds, then start your engine.Your new key should now be programmed.its that simple. as for the fob speaking only of late model hhr's those have to be programmed using a scanning tool dealers have, no way around that one believe me we tried. at least the key is cheap and easy to deal with.

Can't get someone to cut keys.
The keys are correct and the price is great but no one will cut them. Trying three places with no luck. One a Corp. policy, the second there machine was to high tech the third was a locksmith and he wouldn't cut keys he didn't sell. So I gave up and let him sell me a key a as and cut it. There are two other hardware stores in our area but 15 and 25 miles away. It just wasn't worth the time to drive to either end then I'm not sure they would or could cut them.

Local hardware store saved the day
The only trouble I had was getting someone to cut the key for me. The first locksmith I tried wouldn't touch it because I "bought it over the internet". However, he then referred me to someone that he knew would do it. I called the second locksmith and they wanted $65 to cut the key! They told me that it was a "package deal" that it included the key and programming of it. Since I already had the key, that was pointless. Finally, I decided to try the local hardware store down the street. They ended up cutting the key for me and did not even charge me a penny!!! I should've went to them first! I programmed it myself with the directions that were provided. I had no problems whatsoever programming the key and it took me about 30 seconds to do it. It works great.

Cutting the key is the hardest part!
I give it three stars because this key when cut does programs thru the car's ignition as long as you have an original programed key.Getting it cut though is the real trick. Forget Home Depot, Lowes, local hardware if the sell car keys and ever locksmiths. It seems either don't have the key dies to cut this key, or they sell and cut this same key or won't cut yours. The worst thing that could happen (which happened to me) they TRY to cut your key but mess it up and make it worthless. Then they will offer you THEIR key, but for their normal price. They won't replace the key they messed up (yours). Too much money in Programmable keys I guess. The cheapest was $40 but went as high as $60 for their keys. The Chevy dealer is out of the ball park on cost.Good luck finding someone to cut this key, I went with the $40 key.

Won't clamp correctly--wrong shank size
The upper part of the key (without grooves) wound up being a different size than the original key. I bought two; neither worked. When they cut the keys they both cut too narrow. Would not even unlock the door!! Two different people at the store tried to get these to clamp down tightly. They would not for some reason.I wound up getting two keys at the store. THEY cut correctly and easily.

Cheap and it works great.
It's hard to criticize this key blank. Quality is reasonable; not quite OEM-grade, but at half the cost, its close enough. A local locksmith charged me $3 to cut it for my 2009 Chevy HHR. Programming was incredibly simple.

big savings over dealers
My kids had lost our spare key to our Chevy HHR. I went to dealer to get one made, and since it's a 'chipped' security key, they wanted like $80 for a single replacement key. Looked on Amazona and found Discount Keyless and ordered 2 keys from them for $11.00 each. They come with instructions on 'programming' the key yourself. I went to a hardware and had them cut the key, then followed the directions to program the key and they work perfect. I saved a ton of $ going this route. I highly recommend the seller Discount Keyless. Very good to work with. I would use again.
