MarumanMnemosyne Inspiration 5 mm Grid 6.3 x 8.3"

It was love at first write! I started using a fountain pen a few weeks ago and discovered I had not one piece of paper or any notebooks that were smooth to write on. I love grid paper but read that the popular Rhodia pads' grids are thick. After reading some reviews, I passed on all the usual suspects of pads and got this one. I am delighted that I did!! I tested a page with a number of pens including two that write really wet and none have any bleed or show through. One can write on both sides of the paper and it's a real delight. I didn't realize that the back was blank - what a bonus! Plus, you get cute but subtle Japanese cartoons of how to use the pad on the inside of the cover. Oh, the back is really solid. LOVE it! Enough exclamation points for ya? Ten stars!!! I'll never buy another pad of paper. Too bad it's ten times the cost of the same size pad at my local store. Who cares? It's a small luxury that goes a long, long way. Update: Still love the paper, but I hadn't used a flex nib on it yet. It seems to lay down thicker than on other paper and with a wet flow, using Pelikan Edelstein ink, there is some bleed through, though not enough to get on the next page. Still a great paper. There's no feathering, even with the seemingly thicker line.

I've purchased and used two Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks (dotted) and three Rhodia notepads (blank and dotted), and I have to say that the Maruman Mnemosyne is my absolute favorite of them all!! The other two are fantastic, but this one fits my needs perfectly. The paper is ultra smooth and thin, just like Rhodia paper, but I love that the spiral is on the widest part of the notebook. The paper is an off-white; it's not as bright white as Rhodia, but not as ivory as Leuchtturm.Keep in mind that this notebook has the light grey grid the front side and it's blank on the backside of each page. I doodle with my gen pens on the blank side, and practice pointed pen calligraphy on the grid side. With my dip pens, I use watercolor ink and black sumi ink with no feathering or bleeding, and minimal ghosting. I did find that super thin, very watery inks (like J. Herbin) WILL cause feathering and bleeding, but to be fair, I've had that problem with this ink on various different types of paper.The Mnemosyne can be used horizontally or vertically. I prefer the latter. The front side also has a tiny little bit of text in the corner, near the spiral binding, with some space to write the title and date. The pages are perforated for easy removal.

I am a homeschool mom and my kids use this for their science journals in the elementary years. It's a great size for singular entries and the grid is nice when they want to do a specific drawing.

Great horizontal layout spiral notebook! Such a goodt idea. Wish it was a bit thicker/have more pages. However, I'm fundamentally happy and will make future repeat purchases. Using it to keep track of projects at work. Paper quality isn't spectacular, but it's better than normal -- I'm just a paper and fountain pen snob!

I was very pleased with this paper. The grid is printed dark enough to clearly see but thin and light enough to not be obtrusive. The finish is very smooth and a pleasure to write on with my fountain pens. I did find Rhodia's dot paper to be slightly smoother, but not by much. I did find this paper to not bleed at all to the back, unlike the Rhodia paper which occasionally did. I will definitely be purchasing this again.

I have just received the Maruman Mnemosyne notebook (182) and I love it.Outside cover: Hard, but yet flexible plastic black cover with handsome branding in gold letters.Wire bound: is double wired with thin metal versus the flimsy plastic wire that you sometimes see on other brands.Paper: The paper is graph grid which consists of a light/faint lines that are dark enough to see, but are not distracting as the dark blue lines that some other notebook brands use. The surface is smooth (similar to the rhodia notebooks) and is great with rollerball, ballpoint or fountain pen.Size: I purchased the A4 which is a nice size for note taking, small schematic drawing, process map developing, etc., without being bulky to handle.

I’ve never written on paper like this. I’ll probably never go back. It’s good for my calligraphy and just pleasurable writing.

This is my third time purchasing this product. I use them for notebooks and idea sketching. They are amazing. The craftsmanship of everything is superb. The paper is super smooth and pens or pencils glide like silk. The wire spiral is high quality and pages flip easily. I've tried many other brands but this is the best. I will keep buying these.

Smooth paper...great for pointed pen calligraphy and preparatory sketches or wc for projects...

Me gusta porque absorbe bastante bien el grafito y la tinta. Lo recomiendo por sí tienes planeado tomar notas rápidas y efectivas, por detrás de la hoja hay una página completamente blanca, ideal para realizar diagramas. 🤝

Advertised as Mnemosyne 6.3 x 8.3. This is not what was delivered. They are the standard A5 pads which are available cheaper when bought individually. Very disappointing. I am returning to seller.

Forse la carta più piacevole su cui scrivere, se non è al primo posto è comunque sul podio. Perfetta per penne stilografiche, l'inchiostro non si diffonde e non traspare per niente, la scrittura è perfettamente scorrevole. Raccomandato

Paper is paper, right? Try this pad, it made me stop using my iPad or laptop for notes.Also, the Japanese shop is amazing! Really fast and friendly service.
