I had never read Frankenstein...only seen the movies. But this book totally surprised me with the storyline. It's a story, within a story, within a story. The writing is superb and it was captivating. This is a classic for a reason.

I bought the hardcover book with Dracula because of the modern illustrations the cover portraits.Regarding the physical aspects of the book, it is overall very nice and durable. My initial concern was that the pages were going to be easy to rip because the paper feels cheap but, they are pretty strong so, not a problem.The book itself is a classic, it’s a great horror novel, introducing us to the character “Frankenstein” or “Frankenstein’s monster.” I love the introduction from Shelley giving us background as to why and how she came about writing the book. although, this is not a beginners book(quite the contrary); Shelley uses a complex vocabulary so it’s easy to get lost in what’s going on. I had to have lots of words defined. Overall, It’s a good book to add to your collection.

(No spoilers) I understand now, the fascination with Shelly's frankenstein, although the reason why I chose 4 stars is because I personally didn't understand alot of what I read. So I had to Google alot of the words used. This is of course not the fault of Shelly and is all my own. I also want to say that I have never actually knew anything about frankenstein..the world has really turned this book and story around and made it a lot more childish than it really was originally! I never knew that Frankenstein wasn't even the Monsters name! I very much liked this book but again due to the hard language it is written in, I can't choose 5 star. I didn't understand alot but at the end, I could easily tell my friends or someone who hasn't read it the story of frankenstein and everything about it including the monsters perspective after his creation. Please buy this book if you're thinking about it, don't let my review or the hard language put you off this book!NOW regarding the hardcover I bought, it came in without any problems and the text was printed with good font size.

“Frankenstein, The Modern Prometheus” is an age-old classic with well-deserved respect that has withstood the test of time as well as highlighting Humanity's enduring questions: Who am I? What is my Purpose, Why was I created. Anyone who is serious about meaningful literature should read it.The only annoying thing about this superb hardcover book version is the day-glo pink used on the cover, otherwise excellent in every respect. The print makes for easy-on-the-eyes reading, great line-to-line spacing and an adequately sized font. The column width is perfect for the type size, not too wide; and the flat matte page paper it's printed on is glare-free making for a pleasurable relaxing read. As long as you don't look at the pink cover. LOL.

I highly recommend ordering these versions of Dracula and Frankenstein together. The cover artwork looks really cool with both books side by side for the bookshelf display narcissist in all of us. They are the perfect size in my opinion, not too big or small. The print is big enough to easily read without holding the book 6 inches away from your face. These books are classics, and to get them both with modern cover art for under $12 each is a great buy.

Never have i bought a book so quickly solely based on this epic cover! I bought the Dracula edition as well love the details like the little lightening strikes on the sides of pages. So far print is easy to read on the eye.Also for those wondering what edition of Frankenstein this is it is the 1818 version =)

This book has a really beautiful soft bound cover for my personal library. I love it!

Essa edição em capa dura é linda, vale muito a pena. A única coisa que me desagradou foram as folhas finas, pois, eu gosto de sair marcando os livros com marca texto.Já a obra em si, dispensa comentários. É simplesmente sensacional, não se tornou um clássico atoa.
