Fits Ridgid R87012 Sub Compact Drill
Fits Ridgid R87012 Sub Compact Drill. Exact same dimensions as stock chuck. The spinning ring at the front of the chuck is a really nice feature.

No more bit slipping!
This chuck works great. As an industrial electrician, I drill through 1/8" stainless steel panels and 1/4" steel square stock daily. My Milwaukee drill is 2 years old and the chuck got really worn out. I decided to try this chuck on the recommendation of a coworker. My drill works better than new. No slippage at all!

Does not fit my drill
I bought this chuck to replace and upgrade the one on my Milwaukee 2601-20. Does not fit at all. This chuck is apparently designed for drills with a bigger shaft. This one is way too big for my drill. I’ll be returning it.

Excellent Quality.
The material looks good quality, says it is made in Germany. It is not easy to remove the old chuck. I have model 2704-20, this one comes with a Thorx T40 screw. I used a Milwaukee impact wrench with the T40 bit in torque 3 to remove the screw by holding it firmly. To remove the chuck from the drill you need an Allen L wrench ⅜ and a good vise. You must turn counterclockwise looking straight ahead. It is better to secure the drill well in a vise and put a large Allen key in L to try to turn with the help of a pipe as a lever. Trying to use the torque of the drill to free the chuck could injure yourself or burn the equipment. I say this because on YouTube there is a video of a guy who releases the chuck with the rotation of the drill, but it seems that he has previously removed it, or has changed it recently, believe me, that will not work if you have been working with the chuck for years, and you have used it to do everything. With a little WD40 and prying it should come out. I bought a chuck and screw set (05-88-1500 M6) but the diameter is much smaller than the original. At least for the 2704-20 that screw does not work. I guess it goes to the screw bucket.
