The Escape to the Country Handbook Hardcover – April 2, 2020

I can't think of a more enjoyable show on American TV. But you need to hunt for this BBC offering. The book is also a pleasure. If you are interested in the UK, or Houses or Gardens you will agree. Jules is a superb host and presenter. He doesn't disappoint as a writer.

Jules Hudson is the most popular and seasoned presenter on a program that goes all out to give city dwellers new forever homes in the ravishing countryside locations of Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England. The wonderful photography accents the natural beauty of both land and sea. The book is very much a true companion to the popular TV series. The maps are helpful and easy to use, the images of both exteriors and interiors of the homes are typical of the many favorite regions such as Devon, and the buying tips are fascinating even for Americans who may never even be able to visit Great Britain let alone buy property there. I purchased this beautiful and well-priced coffee table book for a faithful viewer to the BBC series. Jules Hudson is an author whose literary skills equally match his fine screen presence. This book is a gem.

This book covers the pictureque countryside of England and the author appears on the British show "Escape to the Country" shown on "DABL" TV channel. When I return home to London, take the day tour bus trip to the "Gloucestershire" to see the fairytale countryside full of magnificent quirky homes and villages.

My husband and I love the brier ish show “Escape to the country” and Jules is by far our favorite host. This was a Christmas gift for my husband so we can continue to plot our very own escape.Great book!

This book is so much more than I expected. It’s so detailed and informative. Absolutely gorgeous book. It makes me want to move to the U.K. more than I already do.

The book itself is great, wonderful photos, etc. However, it's a shame that Amazon has resorted to selling seconds, mine looked like it had been beaten up on the back cover as well as been exposed to water. I'll think twice about buying books from Amazon from here on in, I'll drive to that "other" bookseller first. This isn't the first damaged book I've received, but it will be the last. I kept it as I didn't realize how bad it was until the return window had already closed.

Absolutely a beautiful depiction of England full of information and details about the countryside steeped in history, culure, architecture and much more!

A great book by Jules. It will pique your interest to start you on the right path of escaping to the country, but not too much info to overwhelm you. The key is getting you started on a new adventure. Very nicely done.

Love the book! Wonderful photos! Love the author! I think he is my favorite presenter on the TV show Escape to the Country and he has done a bang up job on the book.

Bought it to help plan for a prospective house move. Gives a FEW tips, but only buy it if you want a nice coffee table book of houses only the very rich would live in. Returned it.

I love this book. Lots of lovely photos of Houses, people, landscapes etc. I do like Jules Hudson as a presenter on the TV program and I hope there are more books to come from him. Presenting the series gives him the perfect opportunity to get all the photos he needs for many books.It is a great book to give as a present.
