Budget All in one package
Before i begin to write this review i'd like to highlight that this has been the 6th dongle I have purchased for my macbook till date and this time i definitely didnt go wrong.Looking at the price i was pretty confident that there would be a big compromise on the quality but i was proven wrong. The product pretty much has all the ports i would need on a day to day basis, infact packs in a bit more such as the VGA & the gigabit lan port. One i didnt have on any dongle till date. All the dongles I've used till date have had my minimal ports such as the USB port, HDMI & SD Card, but having accessibility to the additional Lan, Micro SD and the VGA comes with its own set of benefits. This product was definitely a bang for the buck and i see myself replacing all my legacy dongles with just this one dongle saving the hassle of forgetting different dongles rather having all of those features packed into one.

A light, well built, fully featured USB C hub
I have purchased a number of these USB C hubs for the COVID lockdown period, one for my laptop, games console and phone. They're simply great for connecting many things to a device at once but keeping it portable, so you only have one cable to unplug when you want to move. This hub is the most fully featured one I own. It contains most kinds of connection the average person could want:- Headphone jack- Two USB 2.0 ports- Two USB 3.0 ports- SD Card reader- Micro SD card reader- HDMI- VGA- Ethernet- USB C power, so you can even power your device using this hubI have checked all the ports and they all work well on my unit. I currently use it for connecting to my home internet (faster and more reliable than WiFi), listening to music through headphones via the jack, plugging in a keyboard and charging my laptop. When I want to move from the desk to the sofa, it's so much easier than unplugging many ports. The build quality on this model is very good - it's made out of aluminium and feels premium. That's about all there is to say, it just works!

The best dongle I’ve ever used. Works well with iPad Pro.
So I had originally bought this for use with a MacBook Pro, but ended up buying an iPad Pro for another project. I am crazy impressed with this dongle!!! I had attached two hard drives, a keyboard, mouse, SD card, micro SD card, gaming headset, Ethernet cable and HDMI mainly to stress it out and it worked almost perfectly. (If I had a VGA device I would have plugged that in too...)My two gripes were that attaching and reattaching peripherals would sometimes cause all of them to simultaneously disconnect. Also, when you have the dongle plugged into the iPad Pro, you can no longer direct audio through iPad speakers, they are forced through the dongle (I’m fairly certain that may be more due to Apple than to the dongle manufacturers, but just in case it is something they can work with I hope it gets noticed)You have to be careful about the power draw when you have this many peripherals connected - the dongle works perfectly, but you might not realise how much power you’re using. The dongle is light, but feels like it could take a few knocks and still work well. I would recommend this dongle to anyone and everyone.

Spot on dock for a cable free desk
Bought this to work from home as covid is never ending. My partner and I both share an office space, we have a monitor on a desk mount and my desktop pc is setup there. My partner wanted to be able to use an ethernet connection on her Dell laptop which doesn't have an ethernet port, whilst also using the second screen via HDMI, plugging in via usb c power and using usb-a dongles for wireless devices. But for 2 days per week I need to work from home using my HP elitebook, it was a massive hassle disconnecting all her stuff, crawling under the desk to swap plugs and charges over, cycle through the connections on the monitor etc.Amazingly this box has handled it all. The best thing is that the charging adapter for my partners Dell now works as a power unit for my HP as the hub also handles passthrough power via usb-c (not sure on max power delivery but it's around 45-60w i believe)All in all an awesome unit. I've knocked 1 star off as it does run pretty hot with passthrough and it's not something I'd trust leaving connected that way although it does carry a CE mark so I'm probably paranoid.

audio issues make it unusable
Really wanted to like this, and for the most part it was good, but -- and I don't know if the product I got specifically was faulty or if it's just an ordinary feature of these -- when it was plugged in I couldn't hear sounds from the speakers of my computer (even when there were no earphones plugged in). The only way to hear sounds with this hooked up to your computer is if you've also connected earphones to it and have them in your ears. Since I like to listen to music or watch stuff while cooking or exercising, that was no good for me, the entire point of having this was so I could hook it up to the big monitor and watch while doing other things. So had to send it back.

easy to use has HDMI, USB and everything else.
My bro recently brought a new macbook. he uses it quite often and when home he's used to connecting his old laptop to the monitor. however the new macbook only has usb c so he needed a dongle.this one has all the ports but especially external full size USBs and HDMI out. so now he can use it with the monitor when he comes back from university and he can leave it plugged into the monitor and it's just a simple matter of plugging a single usb type c cable into the macbook.
