Jagerspitz Elegant Gift Butter Knife

THIS KNIFE IS GREAT!!! I mainly use sticks of butter versus the soft butter/margarine, so I have been searching for the perfect knife. THIS IS IT! The Jagerspitz Butter Knife actually has four ways to spread your butter. The top has a slot to remove a "wide slice" of butter. The tip has a hole to remove medium size "strings" of butter. On the bottom, above the spreader edge, are smaller holes that remove several small strands of butter for easy spreading. And, of course, the bottom is a perfect spreader. I bought one for myself and one for a gift. It comes in a cushioned box that you can store it in after each use to protect the beautiful stainless steel finish instead of banging it around with the rest of your silverware/ NICE!

This butter knife is perfect for more solid or cold butter. Living in AZ it can be impossible to leave the butter on the counter so it stays soft. Even with the AC on the butter can get TOO soft and needs to be kept in the fridge. With this knife and it's unique design we can still butter our toast in the summer without rips! The handle is very well designed to fit in your hand perfectly. The box it came is beautiful and would make an elegant gift.I received this butter knife at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. Which this is.

This is a cool tool, but the implementation was a little cheap. The knife is simply a blade (unsharpened) and the holes cut for the butter slicing (three different types). This design requires a certain amount of plowing through the butter to extrude the slices. A better design would have the edges of those holes raised and sharpened a little so that it would cut the but, rather than extrude it. But it works if you let the butter sit out for a while before use.

My new butter knife is very cool because it really works! I despise trying to spread cold, hard butter on a slice of bread, tearing it all apart. With this knife, you'll never have that experience again. Love the quality, and it is comfortable to hold and use easily. Packaged well and arrived before expected too!

Very "hefty" feel; I like that in utensils. Solid feel to the knife. Took two stars off because it's still kinda hard to push the knife into a stick of butter to scrape "noodles" off the stick. Ad photo shows a knife scraping across a big slab of butter. I only buy packs of quarter pound sticks so you gotta hold the butter firmly with one hand while scraping with knife. Cool idea but not meant for sticks of butter. (If I'm not doing it correctly to make noodles, maybe someone can tell me a better method.)

Loved the gift packaging!!! The knife itself is solid and does not feel cheap (like I expected). It works best on butter that is somewhat softened (durr - it is a butter knife, not a chisel).

Doesn't work as intended! I tried this on various sticks of butter and various temperatures. It failed badly. It is well made and beautiful but does not meet my needs or expectations.
