One Of The Best!
This game is a classic now but still one of the best. with all the different weapons you can build up and with magic added to the mix later the game becomes one of the most enjoyable games of it's timeThe game doesn't seem very good at first. The voice acting is bad in places and the game could have better camera placements (though you can turn the camera around in most situations, just not easy if you happen to be on the run). These things become less of a problem as time goes on.Through the game you will get more characters and maybe even develop a feeling for what each of them is going through. A story builds around all the people, and no matter if the have a small or big part, they become people that will help you progress.Building up the character can be a long process (if you are like me and like all skills unlocked) but building up in this game is essential as each character can use 2 or 3 different weapons and if you don't try to build them all up you will find that your skill with that weapon makes you weak at vital points, also building up all the weapon skills and magic unlocks stronger spells and skills that make enemies a little easier. As for the story, well i won't ruin it, the story is a little cheesy and most people will give up on it before the end. It is a shame but all games have this problem. All in all this is an enjoyable game and deserves to be recognized as a classic masterpiece. I rate it just bellow final fantasy games (as I love them) in the top classic rpg's of that era.

Best game in the WORLD.
I first played Grandia 6 years ago when my mate lent it to me, after playing it for a bit I went out to acquire my own copy but could only find it in a rarity. It was then and still is now my favourite game, there's only 1 draw back to Grandia and that is once it's done.... its done. The story's over. I laughed I cried (I didn't really cry.....ok maybe a little) every one I've given this game to says it's their favourite game too. And as for Feenas level 99 wind and 99 water.. I won't spoil it but my girl friend did it so it is possible. The feeling those hard core book readers get from adventure books is the feeling you will get from playing Grandia.. The best story I've ever experienced (books movies games cartoons) this is THE best. But don't bother with any of the follow ups I brought them ALL Grandia 2 Grandia 3 Tales of Symphonia, Dragon Quest. ALL crap nothing even slightly as good as Grandia. Even though the graphics are dated now I still recommend this game highly.

Grandia
Grandia is one of my all time favourite RPG's, at first, in the town of parm, the graphics seem pretty low quality and "boxy", but you soon get used to them, and they portray the forest area's very well, the dungeons span from lush tropical jungles to rocky mountain peaks, and exploring them is a joy. The different villiages you travel to all have a uniqueness to them and a different culture, with many strange people and houses, the whole experience is enhanced by some of the best music i've heard in any game, most of the tunes are simple, but inspiring and unforgetable, the soundtrack sets a unique atmousphere to the game which would have been lost without it.The battles are not random, you can see the fiends on the feild, and battle is initiated when you run into them (or they run into you). The battle system is great, and easy to learn, it's turn and time based, and there are loads of weapons to choose from and level up for each character. The magic is really impressive, you collect mana eggs and trade them at shops for magic, (fire, water, wind, earth) once you have leveled up certain elements you can then learn combination elements like explosion (fire+earth) and then go on to learn more abilities for each element. This adds alot of depth and the battle system on the whole gets a thumbs up.The story is where Grandia really shines, it's an epic adventure that spans many continents and villiages, the characters evolve at the same pace as the story, and i felt like i cared what happened to them (unlike some rpg's).All in all Grandia has been a highly underrated game in past years and it's better than most new generation console rpg's, if you haven't got it yet, i implore you to buy it! this game is truly ultimate.

The best RPG on the Playstation!
This game is far better than any of the final fantasy games. Those games are unbalanced because of the random battles. You tend to rush through the game because of this. The combat system in this game is also much better (the ability to move around increases the strategy element of the battles enormously).Shallow people will coplain about the graphics but this is a definate graphics over gameplay type of game. Not that the graphics are that bad (fully 3D worlds, battles against a pre-rendered backdrop, and the main characters are sprites). This combination allows lots of people on screen without slowing the game down. The character development is very clever. You must develop a wide range of weapons (not just one) to learn new more powerful attacks. This is also done with the magic. This game depends on strong characters and a good story to drive you rather than hours of FMV.The controls work very well (the second analogue stick is used to zoom in and out and control the camera).I cant praise this game enough.Just take my word for it and get it now!Even if you have to sell your children!
