Handy and sturdy
As usual, Cold Steel has produced a sturdy and attractive blade. The sheath fits well and does not show any signs of coming loose when wearing this knife around the neck and under clothing. Very nice as a personal defense weapon, but also very handy for other purposes when you need a blade handy because the neck sheath allows you to keep track of it and not have it lying around or getting lost. Also great for outdoor activities like fishing when it is handy to have a blade that is easy to access. Good product for this price.

Great design and great knife but as far as cold steel standards are... horrible Edge
I'm a big fan of Cold Steel products and I own a lot of them but this one was kind of disappointing as you can see from my pictures I don't wear it as a neck knife I modified the chief by drilling a single hole to line up to a Tek Lok clip and I wear it on my belt. that works fine the sheath is fine and the general construction of the knife is fine. The issue that I have with this is the edge on this knife out of the box it was poor by Cold Steel standards and barely serviceable by normal standards. It does shave paper but it doesn't shave it cleanly. So it would cut in a pinch but it's not as sharp as it should be I did order a replacement to see if there's any difference and I will update this review at that timeUPDATE...I've received my replacement and it looks like the original one I received was a return because I can get the edges perfect on my replacement extremely sharp and smooth no issue

excellent value
This is my first of many Cold Steel products I think. The blade was razor sharp out of the box and has held a good edge so far. It's light and comfortable to carry in a variety of positions and easy to conceal regardless of clothing. I've worn this lashed to my belt, tucked in a boot, and even tied to a draw string on running shorts. I think I like the sheath almost as much as the blade. It's flat, light, and securely holds the knife in place even when worn inverted. The handle provides a secure grip. I did ditch the steal bead necklace in favor of some parachord. I haven't put it though any abusive tests or anything, so if you like to open cans and chop wood with your knives, I can't help you there, but if you need a sharp, easily concealed blade for self defense I think this is a good option.

It is much better THAN a $120
Came razor sharp and held a edge for such a long time. It is much better THAN a $120.00 dollar BenchMade Saddle Mountain Hunter that I returned recently because it dulled extremely fast. BenchMade does NOT honor their warranty either. I like the design of the Cold Steel Secret Edge. It's light handle and great balance feels good in the hand. I use it in the kitchen and it is easy to wash and get clean. The handle scales are tight and water doesn't get underneath them.

Decent value, needs reprofiling to meet true potential
This is a decent blade for the money, however, to maximize sharpness it REALLY needs to be reprofiled. The problem is blade thickness. It's VERY thin. As a result the edge angle is very shallow, and arguably somewhat weak. I ground the V edge into a very shallow convex edge on a 220 water stone and then sharpened and polished on 400 then 2000. The new edge slices paper like butter and its much more practical for simple tasks like opening packages and basic needs. For $20-25 its decent, but if you are a knife lover, you might be a tad disappointed with the edge.PROS:- Then profile helps with concealment- Good traction on the faux G10 handle- Sheath design is very good, though it can cause some hiccups if not careful because of it's symmetrical design (see below)- Inexpensive- Slick looking- A decent EDC slicer when reprofiledCONS:- Blade is too thin and flexible for some users- Beaded hanging chain is a love/hate relationship versus a cord - I prefer the later- Sheath, those very well made is symmetrical so it can be difficult to tell which side of the blade the edge is on. Your best bet is to put the spine of the knife toward the "SecretEdge" label so you know when you pull it out that's the safe side. Just remember to hang it around your neck in the appropriate direction so if you need to grab it in lower light, you're in the clear- Sheath holes too small for standard paracord- Must be careful IF you decided to put a new edge on it as the thin metal is very easy to overgrindI keep this in my laptop bag without the chain as a just-in-case knife for opening packages, cutting fruit for a snack, etc. People might describe it as a "tactical" but that ends at it's black color and stealthy design. It's a FUN blade, but not a serious worker. This design in a thicker steel with a better edge would be very cool and CS might make such a knife. I picked it up simply to mess around with. In my opinion, if you're a knife lover and your expectations arent too lofty, you'll be satisfied with it. If your looking for a decent EDC to have for basic slicing tasks it's good, but better if you redo the edge in my opinion. If you are looking for a more robust necker knife, I'd strongly encourage you to look at the original ESEE Izula blade. It's a bit over double the price but WAY more knife and it comes with every accessory you could want except handle scales, which you don't really need. I reprofile them to convex as well, but even the factory V edge is way sharper and stronger. ESEE with a good convex is among the best knives I've tried. The handle on the Isula is a tad shorter but WAY more comfortable in the hand and you'll never get confused about which side of the blade is sharp.I hate being overly critical, but I'm being honest. As with any review, please look at my expectations for the products I review and make your decision accordingly. Don't buy or not buy something because of what any ONE person says unless you read something that really hits home with you. I hope that you find this review helpful and enjoy whatever knife you ultimately decide on. I work 60-70 hour weeks, but if I can find some time, I'll load a few pics.- R

Sharp and discreet
Perfect sgian dhu for wear with a kilt and hose. A real, sharp, capable knife instead of a stupid bottle opener or nanny-state blunt imitation of a blade. This is a man's knife, not an apology for and accommodation of the fears of soy-drinking hoplophobes.

great light use blade with high level of carry options.
This knife is a very good budget option for a fixed blade edc. It is very comfortable to carry in many different configurations (sleeve, neck, ankle, waistband, pocket, etc.). The knife and sheath have been thought through as a system, and with some micro bungie cord threaded through the eyelets you can attach it to anything. It's important to note the point is very fine, and the blade is thin, so it is really only for light tasks, or emergency use as a back up, to the back up. The edge isn't the sharpest out of the box, but after about fifteen minutes sharpening I got a razor edge. It is so comfortable to carry don't forget you have it.
