Supplying Demand 4200520 SZ4200522 Refrigerator Ice Maker Replacement Model Specific Not Universal

I have a very old 48" side-by-side SubZero 532 (ca 1990). We decided to replace it, but there is a 1-year waiting list... So when the icemaker finally died, I ordered a replacement, which came very quickly, with clear instructions and suitable screws and plugs, and proved very simple to install. The actual installation was a pain, due to the 532's odd placement of the icemaker unit (very hard to reach, needed a foot-long Philips screwdriver, and with cables held in old and fragile plastic clips), but once I had the old one out, reversing the steps was not too bad. I replaced the water valve while I was at it and an hour or two after completing the change had my first new ice cubes.The fit and finish of the unit is better than the original (even after giving the original due credit for its age), but it is otherwise exactly identical to the original, including the hard-to-reach fine controls under the square white plastic cover; fortunately for me, these controls (for water level, length of heating to remove a crop of ice, etc.) were set to very good values, so I have not had to fiddle with them at all.Highly recommended!

This was trivial to install once you remove the existing ice maker. I installed this on an old SubZero 550, and it is working flawlessly at the moment. I bought this out of frustration after having a few (very expensive) service calls that said it would cost me over 800$ to repair our broken maker and recommending I purchase an entirely new fridge (over 10k$). For 80$ and a 10 minute installation, this was well worth it.I woke up this morning to a full tray of beautiful moon-shaped ice cubes for the first time in years. Very happy with this purchase.

Worked OK for a few months, but ice cubes were all fused together. Adjusted the fill screw 1/2 turn as directed but cubes still fused. Repeated adjustment 2 more times, no difference.NOW it is making a periodic grinding sound, as if is trying to eject the cubes.It is a big pain to keep taking the (full) freezer drawer out to make these adjustments.I'd like to hear from a rep to try to fix this.
