Best option for sourdough starters
Love these jars! The glass is high quality and thick. I have definitely banged them around without issue. I like that the lid can be a loose fitting cap or air tight with the clips. Having the wide mouth opening with no ridges has made sourdough maintenance much easier and cleaner. The two pack has been clutch so I can use the empty jar to help tare my scale when feeding my starter (plus less dishes!)

These are great for sourdough starter and anything else.
This size is perfect for sourdough starter because is provides room for expansion when you feed the starter. If you have ever had a starter container explode you know the cleanup is not a pleasant experience. The clips take some getting used to in order to get them on right but that is just the way Weck jars are and the good part is the lids don't get cemented on like threaded ones. Besides looking nice, the round shape of the jar and large lid makes it easy to feed the starter and scoop some out when you need it.

Don't hesitate if you are into sourdough baking
I love these Weck jars! They were recommended by several sourdough enthusiasts and for good reason! They make the process a lot easier. Plus, I think they are so cute with the strawberry design on the outside and lid! My starter was just fed or I'd have a photo of it active.

These are the best jars for sourdough starter or discard. They are great quality and perfect size!

Great buy fo sourdough starter
I love them. It is so much easier to make sour dough starter with these jars. They are the perfect height for stirring the starter. Cleaning them is easier, too. The wide mouth makes adding flour to the starter a no spills job. I will buy 2 more. The only thing l don’t like is the top closure. It should be easier to use.
