I use these at work to write orders with all day long.Thick nib, bold ink. Love them. Never skips unless it has run out of ink.

Please don’t ever stop making these pens! These are absolutely the BEST pens I have ever used. I was looking for something that would come out dark on my puzzle books. The ink not only comes out dark, but the writing is so smooth. Hard to describe it, but it just flows out, no hard pressing involved…you don’t feel like you’re about to rip your paper trying to write. And you don’t get huge blobs of ink coming out. Love that the cartridge is a clear smokey color so you can see how much ink you have left. I will say that they don’t last a super long time. I was surprised how quickly I went through one. But I wouldn’t trade these pens for the world. If I have to buy them more frequently because I go through them quickly, it’s a small price to pay for such a quality and wonderful pen. I can’t say enough about how great they are! AND please note, they are shipped with a tiny piece of glue/plastic over the actual tip of the pen. You need to peel it off before you can start using it. This is no doubt for safety reasons so they don’t leak in the ship process. It’s so very hard to see and it threw me off at first thinking the pen didn’t work. But you gotta peal that off before you can use the pen. The pen on the bottom of my picture shows the plastic cap cover that needs to be removed, the pen on the top shows it having been removed.

Patty Prefers Pens here! I am a writer who still prefers writing with a pen rather than typing. I have a pen obsession and buy them all the time even though I have several very high quality ones that I tend to use for actual "writing". But for everyday stuff and writing in my journal, I will use almost any pen that doesn't leak, glob up, smear, or fade. I like bold ink which is why I switched from using mainly blue ink to black. These BIC pens claim to be "Xtra Bold" so I had to try them.The pens are standard issue clear octagonal ones with a cap. They each have a little rubber nub at the tip that you must pull off before you can use them. I tried the scribble approach to get the first pen going before I realized this. As far as the ink being bold, I don't see a huge difference between these BIC pens and most of the others. The black is deep and readable. I am satisfied with it but it isn't eye poppingly bold.The pens write smoothly with no leaking, globbing or smearing. They sometimes show through to the other side of the page when I wrote on thin paper but, if the paper is standard or thick, they're fine. They last an average amount of time and I haven't had many skip and need the scribble treatment to get going again. I do like these pens and will buy more for everyday tasks but I really don't see the XTRA BOLD ink that is touted on the box. Still, these are a box of good daily pens at a good price.
