They are a cotton & modal mix with a touch of elastane for a bit of stretchiness. They feel like a soft cotton but not a particularly heavyweight weave. I wouldn’t call them silky.

Q: Could these be worn as underwear.?

Yes, I do with mine, just the job in this heat

Q: should i go a size up or get my ususal size

Go for your usual size. The ones I bought have been great, wash well and are soft and comfy.
