Beautiful eye candy with some annoyances
Many long time fans of the Project Diva games would know that the 1st and 2nd games' ranking system was based on a percentage. Eighty for standard, ninety for great, ninety - five for excellent and one hundred for perfect. However in f2nd Sega decided to throw that balance out the window with the technical zone and switching out Chance Time bonuses from score to rank points. You see each technical zone (of which there are two in a song) is worth three ranking points but miss one note and it's gone. Meaning while hitting the notes each one is worth the same as any other while missing one effectively costs you three rank points. Missing two unlucky notes on an otherwise perfect run drops you down from one hundred to a maximum of ninety four ranking points netting you a great at best. The technical zone is a cool idea but suffers horrible issues. Where in yeh old 1st and 2nd on the psp, the chance time gave you from 10 to 50'000 points it now nets you 5 ranking points or none at all. Thankfully you can miss a few during the chance time and still come out with a success. Yes regular notes make up the majority of your ranking but eleven points is far, far too many on three special areas. The game is very good eye candy on your Vita though. Textures are smooth and even when looking closely while just watching the music video jaggies are difficult to spot. Hair physics and movement is fluid speaking of which there is lots of movement. A problem I had before was that most of the time characters were stationary in a rhythm game. The color palette is gorgeous on the OLED screen. Put to wide and generous use color is highly taken advantage of.A thing the older psp games didn't do was switch characters between songs automatically. I played a Luka song but I hadn't switch over so Miku was still on the stage. Now I pick a Luka song and Luka's character is auto switched which is very nice. Customizable HUD during gameplay is a nice if not a bit limited touch as there aren't a wide range to choose from but enough.I haven't played a Project Diva game in about two years in which I was knocking down extremes left and right. But here I struggle to above a Great on extremes now after thirty hours of play. This is by far the hardest one to date so returning players won't be blowing through the game with ease.Speaking of blowing through a game when you start it up one is still limited to the normal difficulty until you beat it. All of the songs. Why is this still here? It's the fourth game and Sega still thinks limiting returning players to normal is a good idea. Now there are Challenge items that make the song more difficult so it's not as bad but starting off on hard would have made my first ten hours much more enjoyable. I struggled to actually play the game because I was so bored to tears with it. Playing a *game* should not be a chore. In short, Project Diva f2nd is good eye candy with solid gameplay (thankfully Sega stuck with it's not broken don't fix it) with some very annoying balance issues. So much so I considered selling it off before I even unlocked all the songs. I didn't mention the tons of purchasable costumes or mini games you can play in the Diva Rooms because they are not the reason I bought the game. If you're into that sort of stuff costumes are plentiful and each unique but frankly I haven't spent enough time in the rooms to know how the mini games are. I just know they exist.

I have a japan ps3 version so I need also buy a japan version for ps vita if I am going to play dlc.I bought a second hand one and just like new! And just spend 2 days for delivery from UK, no more waiting and duty, same price as a new eu version, very happy with that! The game is totally good, and I am a Miku fan. The only thing is I don't like the model that SEGA uses, I'd better like the one in Dream Theater (same as Diva Arcade). But to be honest, actually SEGA can really get lot of money from that game, not big changes for engine, basic model and others to Diva F, they can just use some sorces from old psp games (same song same cloth same scene) but just make them in HD, and also save some money for buying some new songs. It's called remake but I called that rehash. But I don't care about that anyway.

Best game yet!!!
Best project diva game in the series so far! Before i review i the game itself let me just tell you about the shipping, fast and efficient! Came on time and when i opened the box i saw that they carefully sealed the game box so it would get bumped or sratched on the way here, when i opened the game box i saw the game along with the ar card manual and everything that was suppossed to be there! Everything worked perfectly i defenitely 100% recommend this seller. Now for the game: Best song list of any project diva game so far, beautiful pv's with amazing lighting and effects as well as many extra features aswell as a very improved edit mode with many, many great and amazing edits! I love it so much and will completely recommend this game to anyone who is a vocaloid or project diva fan!
