Sony Webbie MHS-PM1 HD Camcorder (Violet) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

The Sony Webbie is also know as the 'Mobile HD Snap'. As you consider package deals, try to get one that includes the specialized battery and charger, because this camera won't charge it internally using the USB port as some cameras offer. Also look for deals that include the 'Memory Stick PRO Duo', because the internal memory does not store very much time. Although not as common as CompactFlash, these memories (offered in different storage sizes from 4 GB to 32 GB) are also offered by SanDisk and Lexar, as well as Sony. Deals for the Webbie should be less expensive than the Bloggie which was introduced later.I found the manual supplied with the camera so brief as to be confusing or even incomplete. Obtain the manual available at [...] for much better info. This is important because you pre-set the way you want the camera to work, so you just swivel the lens to turn the camera on, then press 'Movie' or 'Photo' to get the shot or start the recording.My prime use is aerial filming with the Webbie velcroed to an RC helicopter. I think it performs well when compared to, although doesn't equal, the performance of a GoPro or Contour. At 720p it is quite resistant to the effects of vibration. I've also attached it to a bike frame and again, very little untoward effects from vibration.

It came without a memory card. With the 12M internal memory, you can barely test the camcorder. So I have to buy a SONY memory card and test it. It is not compatible with general SD card.Pros:1. 1080p, 30fps is very clear.2. The picture option can take pictures at a 5M size, OK clear as well.3. The battery lasts OK.Cons:1. It does not have a memery card.2. The sound is OK but not awesome.3. The camera seems to set up for distant objects. If you want to take a picture of yourself by holding the camcorder, not that clear and the head is huge.4. No flash light. When you take pictures in the dark, it does not light up.

Perfect product to capture footage and mock as super 8 for videos.

For a reasonably cheap camera this is a really handy little thing.The quality is fine, there is no loud buzzy noise so I am quite happy with my purchase.The only down side is the memory card it uses. It's not included and you can only use the Memory Stick PRO Duo that has a slightly different shape than the regular (cheeper) memory cards.I haven't read the instruction manual but I have been able to figure most things out by now.

Sony makes some great products and this is one of them. The only thing I'm not overly fond of is that there is no light source. If you're taking pictures/movies at night, don't expect them to be bright and clear. With that in mind, know what you're buying. Some day soon I'm sure all these little camcorders will have that option on them. It's light and is very easy to use. Enjoy!

THE SOFTWARE IS NOT COMPATABLE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ANTIQUATED OLD COMPUTER. my daughter received this camcorder as a birthday gift a little over a month ago and she loves it. However, when we finally tried to upload any videos to YOUTUBE; it would not work because the PMB software is outdated. Plus I can not return it because it's been a little over a month since we purchased this piece of JUNK THAT SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE DUSTY SHELVES AND THROWN IN THE GARBAGE!!!!!! I called Sony and there are no updates to the software and they have no answers for me. I just burned $129.00 for a paper weight!!!

A few years ago bought very inexpensive. Just a fun to use old fashioned item. Love itAlso SONYs technology then very interesting

It's just okay. I wanted to like it more than I did. Could be a classic w/ the swivel head & sturdy build though.

お手軽なビデオカメラが欲しくなり、愛用のデジカメもバッテリーが数年前に販売中止だったりでコレを購入。手ぶれ補正が無いのが残念なくらいで満足してます。カメラを固定しての撮影なら、流石HDって感じの美しさ！！静止画はイマイチかなぁ？愛用の400万画素デジカメの方がキレイに写せます。本体がプラスチックで高級感は無い（笑）けど軽量なので首から掛けてても負担が無い。あと、バッテリーの保ちがイマイチなので予備のバッテリーがあると安心

デザインもサイズも使いかっても良いと思います。この価格でそれ以上望むのは無理でしょ。

従来から使用していた同等のVICTOR製品を使っていましたがバッテリーが消耗したので買い換えをしました。同等製品はこれがコストパフォーマンスが良さそうなので購入しました。レンズを回すとON-OFFができ、ONの立ち上がりも早く、レンズの向きで撮影方向が変えられるので便利です。日本語の取説はないですが簡単操作なので問題ないです。画像管理ソフトも最新版にバージョンアップできるのでお得です。

程よく小さく、軽い。操作性もよく、画像も十分にシャープに取れます。レンズの口径のためか暗い室内では画面全体が暗めになってしまいますが屋外では申し分ない画像が得られると思います。この値段でこの性能ならば、充分に☆４つさしあげたいと思います。
