For a crowd of 5
It has been a while since we used these windows and I can say with authority that we watched a solar eclipse in Ohio last April 2024. The event was awesome and our eyesight is unchanged. The windows worked and the next time we will need them in Ohio will be 2099, Yippee!

Five Stars and One Sun!
I have large prescription glasses frames, so this style filter works great for me -- instead of trying to get those flimsy glasses style filters to fit on over my frames.I bought this in preparation for the August 21 eclipse, but had some fun with it the other day:It says right on the back "Do not use with binoculars, telescopes, cameras, or any other optical instruments," presumably because if you focus the sun through an optical instrument the focal point can reach well over 1000° F, which would quickly melt a hole in the filter and then BLIND the viewer's eye in an instant. Knowing this to be the case, I tried taping the card *in front of* my camera/telescope/binoculars experimentally. It appeared to work just fine, although I would not have looked for long through the binoculars or telescope because they magnify the intensity of the filtered sunlight, likely to several times greater intensity than the target safety level for prolonged naked eye exposure. I was willing to risk my cheapie camera, but not my eyes -- don't risk yours either! The attached photo is the result of holding a point and shoot camera up to a telescope eyepiece with this filter taped over the *front* of the main telescope lens. Note the sunspot clearly visible in the magnified photo (I adjusted the color balance slightly yellower than the original, which was more orange). The sunspot was also visible viewing the sun with naked eye using the filter card. Pretty cool.

eclipse viewers
they were not quite what I expected, but my fault I didn't read the description carefully they come 5 in a pk I ordered two for me and my husband. I guess we will have plenty to give away at the eclipse. the quality appears to be the same as the card boardeclipse glasses.

They Worked
Since I wear glasses as do most members of my family, I wanted this rather than the eclipse glasses. Bonus is that they can be held in front of a lens to take photos. They worked well. There's really nothing more to add.

good if you wear glasses
the cardboard solar viewing glasses always fall off me these were pretty sturdy and i could just hold them in front of my glasses

These work great
I use these to stare at the sun from my window. A little weird, but yes it's what I do from time to time. I am ready for future solar eclipses. They were shipped from overseas, Israel I think, so it took some time to arrive, but they work great. Highly recommended.
