Initially came for Tynion, stayed for Jimenez's art
I'm going to be honest, I think having time and the ability to read Tom Kings run in it's entirety...and with all it's flaws it still feels like a better Batman book than what Tynion has offered for 30 issues. His arcs are decompressed like King's, except it's event back to back to back. Joker War was alright, and it did give us an undercover Gordon book so that's nice. The only reason you should buy this if you are a hardcore Batman fan, is the art. And my god is it spectacular and worth buying the run just for that. Jimenez is a machine with how much content he puts out, and he's the star of this book.Criticisms for the story-Joker War was supposed to bring Batman back to his simple roots. Instead we have a (admittedly cool) Neo-Gotham, and he uses just as much advance tech as any other run, just different kinds. So that has failed and continues to be a little comical imo-Too many original characters. I think the trend of creating your own characters in the big 2 for potential TV or movie royalties is lame but I get it- This particular arc has moved slowly like all the others, and no spoilers but the FeR State (after this) appears to be shaping up to thatI have to repeat my praises for Jorge Jimenez. James Tynion is a good writer, but this shows me he's not a good main title Batman writer. Maybe a mini or madi outside the main continuity would work.

Very good but short.
I love this series. But needs to be longer. These books are expensive but have been getting slimmer every time. I want more of this DC comics.

Too much going on. Not enough Batman
I have all the single issues that comprise this trade paper back. I feel I must warn the potential buyer that there is a ton of info drops, exposition, and background stories all going on at once. It can be confusing. To make things worse, Batman isn't really the focal point of these issues. You expect to see Batman in a Batman comic doing Batman things, not be lectured by a cybergoth for a whole issue. There are I think two or three fights throughout this story and they are fun but the biggest travesty here is they end way too fast. Most of the story for the most part deals with Batgirl taking over as Oracle again and so we get a lot of techno babble in the clock tower. Look, I know it seems like I'm trashing Batman and I'm not meaning to but this story feels like the author (James Tynion IV who is amazing at writing Batman) doesn't really have his heart all the way into it at the moment. I recommend just picking up a few of the single issues that make this book up and flip through them and see what you like because a lot of this is filler and or set up for Fear State. Artwork is amazing though!

Decent Deconstructing Batman Story
In many ways, this is very much a, "Been there, done that," sort of story. A new siniste rforce has arrived to remake Gotham and change how criminals are deal with because what Batman's doing isn't working or he's part of the problem and he needs to come down. Been there, done that, would buy the t-shirt if it was worth remembering. It seems like an obsession with Batman writers to have villains who want to deconstruct Batman rather than commit crimes that Batman can investigate and stop.Nevertheless, this is one of the better entries. There are several things to like about it.First of all the mystery is nice and twisted and the villain's plot is entertaining to see unravelled. In addition, like it or not, Tynion is committed to his trimmed down Batman and all that goes with it.Barbara Gordon is very good as Oracle and easily makes up for the billions Bruce has lost. There's something compelling about her as Oracle not because it was forced upon her but because she enjoys doing the work and wants to limit her action as Batgirl. It gives her a lot more agency.Though I still live for the day we can get past the "Deconstructing Batman" fad. This is an enjoyable first part to this storyline.

The Future or Fear state
An awesome book. This book is the tipping point between the Future or Fear state.Since Batman appeared he has been using criminals frea and superstition as a weapon. Now however the criminals have evolved and now the people of Gotham have lost faith on Batman and the Bat Family to protect them. What better time gor the master of fear the Scarecrow to reappear.Batman need to solve three mysteries at once if he has a hope of saving Gotham even with his now allies, but also on a budget. On a personal note I love the interaction between Harley and the Ghostmaker. The book has it all a gripping story, and awesome artwork. On top of all that the biggest thing are still to come. I can't wait for Fear State. The book finishes with the wraparound varient cover in the cover gallery.

Futurisitic Batman - Excellent prologue to Fear State
While Future State was a but unfocused amd inconsistent, it led to work like this. If you like the concept of a cyberpunk Batman this is the book for you.

Ya no es como antes!
No sé si por quererlo sacar rápido han bajado muchísimo la calidad del papel. Antes toda pasta dura tenia su papel brillante que dura más, ahora es más sencillo y dura menos.
