I never knew I needed this until I got one
First off, the instructions say to turn your steering wheel upside down for the board to attach to your steering wheel. While this may be true for vehicles with larger steering wheels, on my 2014 Jeep Compass, I immediately realized the board fits the steering wheel regardless if my wheels are turned or not. I think they tell you to turn your wheel for liability purposes, mainly so you won’t be temped to use it while driving which is extremely dangerous and highly illegal. Or maybe I’m just lucky?Anyway, on to my review! I purchased the bamboo version of this board because randomly Amazon offered it for a price I simply couldn’t refuse. First impression out of the box, the board seemed very sturdy and solid enough to handle whatever I put on it. Attaching the board was a no brainer that literally took a second in my case. It fit snug on my steering wheel and I am highly confident the board won’t come off on it’s own due to simple physics and gravity. I first tested the board out while draw on it (leaning on it some) annd never encountered any issues. Next I put my water bottle that was full with ice & water (~3lbs) on it and yet again, the board did exactly like intended. The cupholder cutout isn’t very deep and would probably only be good for a coffee mug but I would prefer to use the center console cupholder so my cup doesn’t consume space on the tray.My only complaint is the wood may scratch your steering wheel up where the edges of the tray’s hooks lean against the steering wheel (this might not be an issue on the plastic trays). Pretty simple solution: go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get a thin to medium thick adhesive foam strip and apply it around the edges of the tray that come in contact with your steering wheel. It prevents and scuffs or scratches from forming on your steering wheel AND it creates a tighter, more snug attachment on your steering wheel. All in all, simply the best car tray I have ever seen and used. The simplicity, the load bearing capacity and a nice modern touch at a price that won’t break the bank are all reasons why you should stop hesitating and buy one already!

Fits well.
This is a very nice product. Just so you know it does not fit well if you have a steering wheel cover. It has a nice feel to it as it easily sets on the wheel. If you work in your car it helps like having lunch or working on a small but yet convenient space. I am very happy with it.

Solves The Problem, But Not Exactly Horizonal
This definitely solves the problem of having a temporary surface to place a quick meal on or a laptop or whatever when you're sitting in your car and not driving. This product has a clever design that manages to fit a typical steering wheel without any hardware and simply uses gravity and its own weight to stabilize itself. Not every steering wheel is the same in terms of diameter and thickness so it pretty hard to design something like this, which "adapts" to the existing steering wheel, and have it lay perfectly horizontal. Having said that, the instructions say to position your wheel in "negative" position - whatever the hell that means. The images show the steering wheel rotated 180 degrees, so I guess that's what they mean by a "negative" position. They say that rotating the wheel to its negative position ensures that it fits and lays perfectly horizontal Well I tried it with the wheel in its 180 degree position and its normal position and it has a slight incline towards the wheel of about 4 degrees - but I could not get it perfectly horizontal as it shows in the images even though it's supposed to fit my car's steering wheel according to the Amazon car database. My only two cons are that a) it did not lay perfectly horizontal as I described, and b) it would be nice if it were a bit deeper front to back. However, I still would recommend this item because, in my case, the slight incline was minor and with weight on the tray it does tend to settle more horizontally and flat-out. It's also lightweight and sturdy and for the price it is worth it.This tray does solve the problem of having a temporary flat surface so yes, I would recommend it to a friend.

Turn Your Car into a Mini Office or Snack Station – Super Handy for On-the-Go!
I’m on the road a lot for work and school, and this little tray has been a total lifesaver. It hooks right onto the steering wheel, turning it into a mini desk where I can rest my laptop, take notes, or even just eat lunch without making a mess. The pen holder is a smart touch, and the other side works perfectly for snacks and drinks during breaks. It’s lightweight but sturdy—I was surprised how solid it felt once attached. I’ve even used it to do homework in the car between errands. It pops on and off in seconds and fits easily in the seat pocket when I’m done. If you’re someone who works or eats in your car a lot, this is one of those “why didn’t I get this sooner?” kind of buys

Handy
I bought this at a great price as a gift for my son, who is a pipe fitter and is often eating his lunch in the truck. He really loved it! It is a nice durable quality, easy to Carry with him and to attach and remove. Slim design makes it easy to store away. It works as it should and made his lunch so much more enjoyable.

Check the dimensions for fit
I didn't check the dimensions before I purchased so it didn't fit my steering wheel. Sad and disappointing.
