They work
I use the entire tow system, from baseplate, towbar, stone shield, wiring harness. These covers do their job. Yes they are not fastened tight but with removal through automatic car washes, they work.

Have used for 2+ years on my auto. Haven't had problems with them falling off, but need to be removed before going through auto car wash. I have had them come off a few times. Look good on the front of my car.
