from a mother with an active lifestyle: Organic Bamboo Nursing Pad Review
Having successfully used re-usable organic cotton nursing pads in the past, I was willing to branch out this time and invest a few dollars into another material. I've found these organic bamboo pads to be much more absorbent than cotton, and they are soft and comfortable. I have really enjoyed their color and comfort, and I appreciate their absorbency and cost-effectiveness. I feel like I made a wise purchase here and I intend to check out other items Baby Zelis has to offer.Be sure to wash them as the instructions say in advance in order to maximize their absorbency before your first use. They are large enough in diameter to fit securely into the cup of standard, nursing, and sports bras. They are also thin and discreet, and rather conforming to the cup. Thick nursing pads tend to make your bust unnatural looking and bulky: something you may want to consider when purchasing nursing pads if this is your first go around. These, however, are really nicely discreet. I live an active lifestyle. I am a martial arts instructor and ballet dancer. I am also a fire/rescue/medical First Responder. Subtlety and absorbency are extremely significant factors in my search for "mommy" products. I would not want to be leaking through my shirt in the middle of a lesson, and especially not in front of or over a patient. I really trust the absorbency of these pads, and can work through my day without fear of an humiliating incident.I have stated this already, but I can't stress the comfort and absorbency of these pads enough. If you're struggling in your search for organic materials, please know: cotton, bamboo, and hemp are ideal for re-usable items. Cotton is lasting... but becomes less absorbent over time. Hemp only becomes more absorbent over time and is long-lasting..... but loses its shape with each laundering (even if by hand). These Bamboo pads are a nice medium between the two because they are super absorbent, and the pad retains its shape after washing. So you have no lumps. An added benefit to these pads that I didn't think I would appreciate as much until they arrived was how pretty they are. Generally, unbleached re-usable, organic pads have a natural off-white, ecru, or oatmeal color. I liked that they came in feminine colors while I was looking at them on my screen, but I loved it when I saw them in person and have appreciated it with each use since. The colors are much softer in real life, as well. Very natural, and spring feeling.Overall, I recommend this product to others and intend to purchase them in the future as baby-shower gifts for other active, cost-conscious and/or environment-conscious moms I know. They were a great investment and extremely cost-effective, and superseded my initial expectations. The company ships fast and they check-in with you after to ensure you received your package. Just a nice experience all around.

Certainly a Necessity for nursing
I've had similar ones in the past and I really like these. They do tend to get bunched up a little bit inside my bra but they are certainly a lifesaver when out and about and I can't whip out my hakaa thingy. when I can't find them or they are in the wash I end up taking maxi pads and putting them in my bra which is less than comfortable since the adhesive usually ends up stuck to my boob. These hold if fairly decent amount of milk as well and don't bleed through to the other side. I may stitch a little piece of Velcro on them and my bras to see if that helps keep them in place. .... When I have time... Ha ha....

I like them, they work and I'll keep using them ...
I like them, they work and I'll keep using them at night. These are the only washable nursing pads I've tried so I can't make comparisons, but I got them because I was so annoyed with and tired of the disposables. I was going through 120 a month! 2 for bed time and 2 for the day. I hate all the wrappers and the waste (environmental impact, etc) and I ran out once and didn't know until bedtime....so I got these to wear to bed. . These seem to be moist on the backside come Morning, but my bra isn't wet or anything. I can feel the wetness on the inside against my skin if I had a particularly leaky night, which I don't experience in disposables. The disposables draw the moisture up and away from my skin, and I dont notice moisture on the backside of disposables. Oh! And I like not having the adhesive at night, nothing getting balled up and sticking to me, these stay in place just fine in my nursing bra.

Stops the leaks!
I started using these nursing pads because I was tired of constantly running through boxes of the disposable ones. I am nursing twins so my milk production is pretty high and sometimes the disposable ones seemed to fill SUPER quickly or stop absorbing all together after a certain point. Some disposables also left me with a weird tingly/burning/uncomfortable sensation which I don't experience at all using these. The laundry bag is super helpful as well for storage and washing. The only drawback that I have noticed is that compared to other brands of disposable pads, these are pretty noticeable under clothing and can be a little distracting from a great outfit but I found that if I REALLY need to be dressed up for something, I can wear them under a regular padded bra to make it a little more discreet.

Good quality for night time pads
Make sure to note that one version is for night and another is for day. The night ones are way thicker. They're nice terry cloth textured and soft but when breastmilk dries, it turns hard in that area. That said, that's true for most breastpads. This is a good value purchase but ultimately, I decided to buy a second set of bamboobies when there was a sale instead of a day time set of these, which was my original intended purchase. They're thinner and even softer, particularly with a dab of breastmilk in them ... well, in reality it might be just that the Bamboobies stay wet a bit longer giving me a chance to replace them instead of a terry cloth surface which dries faster and hardens faster for discomfort particularly in the area you need it most.
