This is the third or fourth time I've owned a product like this, but in the past such products were part of one bottle-opening set or another. Like anything sharp, eventually they get dull, and this is the first time I've needed to actually purchase the foil cutter separately.The Wine Ziz works no better or worse than any I've owned before, which means I'm satisfied with it. Given the price and the fact that you get a pair instead of just one, I would say that this is the best value available in foil cutters.

Easy to use.

They worked great! I loved using them for the short time I had them. I work at a wine bar, and bought them to help make opening wine faster. One broke after about a week of use, the other dulled in less than two weeks. If you don't open wine super regularly these will last for a long time, but if you're a regular wine drinker I'd find a better foil cutter.

I open an average of 3 bottles of wine per week. I wouldn't want to be without this gadget. It's nice they send two. I used one for a couple of years, and kept the second in the back of the drawer. When the first one gave out because the blade suddenly bent, I grabbed the second one and was able to keep opening my bottle that night. I then later returned to Amazon to order another set of 2, which are both now in the back of the drawer waiting, so that in a couple of years, when the one I'm currently using finally bends or breaks, I can grab the next one. Maybe they all won't last through as many bottles as my first one did, but the price is really good, so it's well worth it. And it's comforting to know there will always be a spare in the back of the drawer. For my first one, the blade didn't dull and nothing broke, but the blade suddenly bent. In retrospect, I probably could have easily used a tool to straighten the blade back out and kept right on using it, but I didn't...I just tossed it and grabbed the spare cutter. This cutter is so convenient. I love it. I do not want to ever open a bottle of wine without it, now that I am accustomed to using it.

Items are a little small and feel cheap. Looking back into regular foilers.

When I built my house, I had the architect design a wine cellar in the ground and not on the first floor. At one point, I had a little over 1,700 bottles of Bordeaux and California Cabs. My wife's thirsty relatives have helped me reduce my wine to less than 900 bottles.I have tried over ten different foil cutters, with the last one being a Rabbit which came with the Rabbit Cork Screw. By the way, the Rabbit Cork Screw is a terrific product. But the Rabbit foil cutter is not that great.I am blown away with the Wine ZIZ. This past weekend, my wife's relatives (the same culprits) came over for Father's Day, and we consumed five bottles of wine. This was the first time I tried the Wine ZIZ, and it opened each and every bottle with only one-half turn. We do drink a lot of wine! One of my friends who works in a winery (and has to open A LOT of bottles daily) told me about these. One of the biggest differences with these openers is that they have the crescent moon design instead of the traditional four wheel design. That's more metal available for cutting and this design tends to last longer. So far, so good!

Was hoping for a good, strong foil cutter. On first try, it was like our cheap, dull ones. But did work well on the second bottle. They were not expensive, so I won't complain. But waiting for someone to come up with a good alternative to a knife to open the foil and wax on wine bottles!
