The media could not be loaded. I really like this light strip. I installed in the trunk of my 2016 Sonata and the difference is really noticeable. I posted a picture and a video, which clearly shows the trunk is very well lit up, but neither really do it justice. It is super bright. The light the strip emits is a pure white light with just the slightest hint of blue. If you know anything about color temperature then I would equate the light to 6000K. The light strip included a universal festoon connection, which is basically a press to fit connector. It took me less than a minute to get the strip to light up and then it took me about 5 minutes to mount the strip to the roof of my trunk The strip does come with adhesive on the back but since the strip is rigid and the roof of my trunk is not perfectly flat I decided to mount it using a couple strips of velcro and it worked out great. I highly recommend this light strip. It is the least expensive I found and definitely did the job.

Pros: Super cheap. Much brighter than I expected. No drilling necessary for my install (rear hatch on a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek). Comes with two types of bulb-replacement plug-ins for installation.Cons: LEDs are not protected by any kind of housing. It's lasted so far, but definitely not water resistant. Smaller than I expected (but brighter too, so this doesn't matter).Installation: I do Search and Rescue, so wanted a bright light on the hatchback lid so I could see what gear I was grabbing during a load-out. This strip comes with a plug that replaces the existing bulb (so no switches or fuses are required) It's really cool, because the light functions exactly like the factory light: coming on when the hatch opens, and fading out once it's closed.The wire on the plug, and on the light, are about three inches long, so I stripped those and added my own 16 ga. I ran it up to the hatch, and used the adhesive backing on the light to make it stick.It's been on there a month now with no issues. And not only does it provide a lot of light for the back, it lights up the surrounding area as well, which is great when you have a team needing to get ready in rough terrain.If (when) this dies, I'll replace it with something more robust, but as a proof of concept, and for $10, I was impressed!UPDATE: It's been about a year since I purchased it, and the thing is still working. I've ripped it off a few times by accident, but it survived and, with a new strip of sticky tape, still works!

Is it bright? Yes. That's about where the pros end on this product. As others said, the wires will break off if you simply breath on it a little too hard. So the first thing I did was secure the wires with a non-conductive adhesive where they attach to the board. (This is what the manufacturer should have done and it is inexcusable that they did not). The supplied T-3 lamp base, used to replace my 194 bulb, is a joke! They took an ill-fitted piece of plastic that is vaguely in the shape of a T-3 base and shoved wires through it and bent them over. Did they then secure the wires in place so they will actually make contact in the socket? NO! Does it work right out of the box? NO! Can it be fixed? Not really... the T-3 base is so poorly designed it just falls out of my Toyota Camry's trunk lamp socket. Even after I secured the wires in place with a strong adhesive it still cuts in and out as the connection continually is broken. I even tried putting some soft foam around the base to hold it into the socket, which then can be held in place by closing the lamp cover in my vehicle. That did not stop the intermittent connections either... nor did it stop the base from falling out of the socket eventually anyway. I am an electronics technician that has worked with low voltage devices my entire life so this isn't just bashing from some nobody without any ingenuity to make items work better. This product is poorly made and I suspect the quality of the components is just as bad and they won't last as some others have already mentioned. If it weren't so inexpensive, I would return it.
