MAYFAIR 18440EC 000 Open Front Toilet Seat will Never Loosen and Easily Remove, ELONGATED, Durable Enameled Wood, White

Whomever designed the smaller round toilets must not have been a guy (they really aren't even round, they're oblong, just not extended like most current day toilets). Seat design takes up useful space so having the break at the front gives just that extra room for guy comfort. The solid wood design is much sturdier than the flimsy thin plastics often used, where the lid bends in if you sit on it, and I don't even weigh much. As some have said, it'd be nice if there were another set of risers toward the back, the hinges at the back act as second risers but I could see a lot of weight possibly bending the wood. Probably nothing to worry about for most guys.Took me about 5 minutes to install, super easy and fit the older toilet no problem. I only used a wide phillips head screwdriver to tighten after hand turning the hard fiber bolts into place. No need to over tighten. When installing the seat and lid which are attached together, just be sure to slide open the locking tabs fully left to the unlocked position (almost 1/4 left), firmly push down flat over the bolts, it'll sort of snap when firm, then move the locking tabs to the right to hold in place (should be facing up at twelve o'clock). Easy. No seat sliding around at all. Pulling the seat and lid back off the bolts takes a little wiggling to loosen if needed.

Not wood. I drilled holes in the underside to add another set of bumpers, because the first seat broke near the front. These are a compressed composite. Look & feel like wood, and we love them but they are not solid wood.Still, love the fastening Mayfair system that allows me to snap off the seat for cleaning. Should make all seats this way!!

This is a good product. It was simple to install specially the torque nuts included. A real enameled wood with solid strength instead of plastic. It is not self closing, so put the lid down gently. The extra space of the open front is appreciated by guys and over-weight guys in particular.

I love how this seat installs and comes off easily for cleaning purposes. Makes things easier. I did notice the screw part kinda loosens on me sometimes but i think it is because i sometimes sit hard on it because of my issues. but easy to fix

Wooden seat, heavy duty, open front with lid. Much nicer then the closed front.

I wanted to like this toilet seat so much that I purchased a second one after the first one broke within 2 months (yes being hardheaded). Now I've had the second one for only 2 months and the seat broke in half again. No one in my house is overweight.The seat looks and feels really nice and sturdy. However, it is made of composite wood. The seat does not sit directly on the actual toilet. It has 1 bumper on each side that is not centrally positioned. I now think that if it had at least 2 bumpers on each side it would have been better balanced. I'm not sure how to explain this.I just absolutely DO NOT recommend. Two of these toilet seats each broken within 2 months at $30 bucks each it's for sure a bad designed product. I want my money back.

The quality is solid as expected with Mayfair products… Unfortunately, this does not come with slow close hinges. I was hoping to replace these with the hinges from another older, slow close Mayfair seat. The hinges are different along with the whole locations…disappointed and will have to make do. I did reach out to Mayfair directly and pass along the suggestion…Will use this in the guest bath, since it is not used as much, where slamming could be an issue.

I love my new toilet. It took a while for me to find a seat that I couldn’t tear up. Lol. Usually, the seats always twist around, and if they don’t twist around, they would actually break. I can’t do the plastic ones - too uncomfortable. This one is perfect. And it actually has a lid. Very happy.

Had to get one with the front gap due to 'the bidet + my kids = front warping on two precious seats' lol this is better quality than I expected it's nice and thick and super easy to install and remove

not comfortable and both hinges of seat snapped so now not usable, waste of money. Additionally not adjustable as not all WC have the holes in the same place.

American fittings, does not fit uk toilets unfortunately...

Product took some time to arrive but I was mentioned it could take a while. Seller was clear about measures so it was easy to decide which one was the one I was looking for. It is a good quality seat (bit heavy) but seems good quality. Very convenient to have these items for sale in Amazon.
