Fantastic book for adult learners!
I've purchased a stack of piano method books and this one is the best! It has SO MUCH to offer. It's very easy to understand and the step-by-step teaching method is great. The lessons move at a reasonable pace and I supplement it with a series on YouTube - Lets Play Piano Methods - where an extremely good music teacher guides you through the book page-by-page and plays each lesson and duets with the learner. In addition, the book includes QR codes so you can hear how each lesson should sound and you can watch one of the authors demonstrate technique. The authors have put considerable effort into creating this supplemental material. I chose the spiral binding as it lays flat against the piano music stand.

Extremely Well Thought Out In a Big Way
I've used books from Alfred's collection in the past and found them fairly good for learning with or without a teacher. If you look at the second image I shared with parts of Amazing Grace on it, you get a good idea of what they're trying to do and to me it is brilliant that they're teaching these aspects so early in the pianist's learning process. These will build good habits as a result. If you notice they have both L.H. and R.H. next to the numbers in the book. You will also notice that the numbers are up and down around the words, and this is laying out the groundwork for paying attention to the way the music is flowing up and down the staff. Not only is it doing that, but by showing you the finger numbers you get an early subconscious introduction to how Intervals work. Of course, the very fact that they have you playing with both hands from the start is also very good for building that foundation.I'm currently at Page 60 and I do not see any real issues learning this on your own, but if you have questions there are plenty of forums, Facebook groups, reddit groups, or other ways to find your answers.Honestly, the little details that I had to learn the hard way, make all the difference in this book and they really set it apart as one of the better beginners' books for learning.I know some people are upset about the pieces that are included, but honestly, I find they're appropriate for beginners and if you're struggling with those, you can pick up the supplemental book (Adult Piano Adventures Popular Book 1) for more modern pieces, or the classical supplement. Either way, the book is appropriate and if you find you're beyond those pieces, then maybe you should start with a different book in the series.Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the books flow and information... I would recommend this to anyone just starting out as an adult beginner.

Awesome book!
I like this book so far. I have a pretty decent knowledge of music and some music theory. My main instrument is guitar but I've always wanted to learn piano. I work full time and have kids, this moves at a decent pace for me and has a good amount of challenge. The songs can get kind of boring so I also bought a book to have that's really challenging but more fun, that one I'm moving through much more slowly but even that is getting easier the more I work on this book. There are a lot of videos that are easy to access through the QR code. There are some sections that say to have your teacher or find a friend that can play a duet with you. It would be even better if those also had qr codes. I'm doing this on my own and finding a friend that can play piano and that has the time to play through this with me is tough at this point in my life! My goal is to work through the books at my own pace for now, and I'm enjoying it!
