WTF warranty gimmick is this garbage??!?
Just installed the lock.... But I'm giving it one star based on the lousy product registration process they are forcing me to go through.... If I need to write an Amazon review in order to register my product for the lifetime warranty..... It automatically gets one star from me

Flakey product! Will leave you locked out of your own house!
I purchased this locked based on the good reviews but have had problem after problem since the installation of this lock. The finger print reader is very flakey and works 50% of the time. The other night I came home late and with the freezing wind whipping around at 20 degrees the finger print reader decides not to accept any of my fingers or thumbs and promptly locks all tries including finger print, keypad and digital key after 5 attempts to gain access. WTF? So I had to go back and sit in my car with the heat on until how ever long it takes for the lock to reset and accept tries again! This is unacceptable! Locking out after 5 tries! I understand the company trying to apply security to keep bad people out, but this is ridiculous when the lock is so flakey it takes more then 5 tries to unlock. At least give us an option to turn this feature on & off or adjust how many tries to give before locking you out. When you contact support, a computer with basic installation help answers emails until at least your 4th or 5th email at that point a human will answer. I also noticed the lock motor is very weak compared to other locks I have owned and sometimes wont completely lock without assistance. Buyer beware!Update Dec. 11 2021 Unfortunately I have had to return Rook lock to Amazon for a refund after over a month of problems with this lock. After Rook app failed to connect to lock which has happened more then a few times. I tried resetting lock and app and after waiting 8 minutes for Rook server to sign me in, I then paired Bluetooth and then would go into an infinite waiting cycle and would never go into setup menu. I'm guessing it tries to connect with an oversea's server in China and never complete's. I'm just tired of worrying if I am going to be able to get in my house or not, so I am moving on to the Eufy smart lock and hopefully will have better luck with it.

No customer service but I think I caught them at a bad time
I got the lock fairly quickly. Removed my old smart lock that was no longer working. Installed new lock but I couldn't get the initial setup for the app to connect to the lock through my phone. I tried to figure out how to get the 24/7/365 tech support they brag about on their ad. The only way to contact them is through email. So I had a non working lock on my door and sent an email expecting a fairly quick response. When that didn't happen I went through Amazon and they did get someone from their tech support to call me. I told him what was going on and he kind of blamed it on my note 8 phone and said they would try to replicate the issue and update the app and get back to me. I did receive a couple of emails that day also. Well I wanted it done so I went the next day and got a new phone. I had the same problem. I emailed them and never heard back for 6 days. In the meantime I got Amazon to send another lock because I just figured with all the good reviews I might have just gotten a bad unit. Received new lock installed it and the exact same problem. I tried both phones. So I took the lock off and put my old broken one back on and got the 2 rook locks ready to return. All of the sudden I finally get an email from their tech support apologizing for not getting back to me because apparently their 1 tech support guy that takes care of their 24/7/365 tech support was hospitalized. They also for the first time told me to hit the button on my phone to turn off the wifi and try the set-up process again. It worked. I went through all of that and all they had to do was have that in their instructions. I spent a lot of my time on this. I still have to turn my wifi off when opening the app for it to work, but it does work.

Worth Every Penny - Unlocks Super Quickly
The media could not be loaded. ***UPDATE 3***Feb 19th. Still going strong as the day I bought it!! Haven’t had to change my batteries and they’re at 88% since installing this smart lock little over 5 months ago. I recently went inside of the app settings and updated my firmware after noticing that you can do that! I reached out to support to ask what happens when you update the firmware (not the app) and they told me it gets rid of the “lockout” feature and I’m happy that it’s gone. The lockout feature is basically when you try to enter your passcode and get it wrong it locks you out after several attempts. This feature can cause more trouble than it’s worth to someone who doesn’t know how to use the keypad. ***UPDATE 2***Jan 1st the smart lock has been performing really well even during our cold front. I found that using the “unlock” icon on the keypad to wake up the touchscreen before entering my passcode was the best way of entering the code. You just press the unlock icon on bottom right, enter your code, then press the unlock icon again. To lock you just simply click “lock” icon on bottom left. The lock is really well made and has been a blessing for everyone coming and going to our home. I was away for Christmas and had no issues generating a recurring timed code for our cleaners.***UPDATE***I had an issue with my fingerprint, then contacted support via email. They asked me to wipe off the fingerprint area and I did. Problem solved. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW***I’m in my 50’s and not tech savvy by any means but this electronic lock is by far the easiest techy product I’ve dealt with. Installation was simple. You can set it to open on left swing or right swing doors. The app is beautiful and easy to use. I’ve set up the key fobs for my parents, our housekeeper has her own access code, and my children love using their fingerprints to unlock the door.

Not sure if reviews are real......
The lock works okay, but the app does not. It will not pair. I have reset the phone, the device, both, and nothing. Will. Not. Pair. I emailed customer service. Might need to get a refund if not resolved. Says 24 hour 7 days a week 365 days a year support but I messaged them on a Friday night and got a bounce back message that no one will respond until Monday. Stay away
